POLYANILINE THIN FILM GAS SENSORS
Sensors and Microsystems, 2001We have investigated the use of spin-coated thin films of polyaniline (PANI) doped with an organic acid in conductometric gas sensors operating at room temperature. Its advantages are discussed with respect to other organic conductors and inorganic metal oxides operating at much higher temperature.

Image sensors using thin-film absorbers
Applied Optics, 2023Image sensors are must-have components of most consumer electronics devices. They enable portable camera systems, which find their way into billions of devices annually. Such high volumes are possible thanks to the complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) platform, leveraging wafer-scale manufacturing.

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1969
Development of a thin film temperature sensor for rocket borne application is discussed. A description of sensor material, response time, substrate material, and flight instrumentation is presented. Construction techniques are briefly described. Results of rocket flights are discussed and indicate that the temperature profiles obtained with the thin ...

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 1991
Abstract Thin tin dioxide films are used as sensitive elements for gas sensors. The physical properties of such materials and their electrical performance largely depend on their methods of production. This work presents two methods used to produce thin dioxide films, i.e., chemical vapour deposition and reactive evaporation.

Thin films for micromechanical sensors
Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 1990Thin films compatible with integrated circuit and batch processing technologies are utilized in the fabrication of cost-effective, high performance integrated micromechanical sensors. These films are used as structural layers, sacrificial layers, passivation layers, oxidation barriers, masking layers, and for electrical interconnection in the formation

Flexible thin film magnetoimpedance sensors
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2016Abstract Magnetically soft thin film deposited onto polymer substrates is an attractive option for flexible electronics including magnetoimpedance (MI) applications. MI FeNi/Ti based thin film sensitive elements were designed and prepared using the sputtering technique by deposition onto rigid and flexible substrates at different deposition rates ...

Wear, 1981
Abstract Thin metallic films of Ni-Fe are used to measure the wear rates and temperatures at the wearing interfaces. Vacuum deposition and photolithographic techniques are used to fabricate and pattern these sensors and their associated leads. The small dimensions of the films permit the fabrication of wear samples with the sensor sandwiched between ...

Pyroelectric thin-film sensor array
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 1997Pyroelectric thin-film point detectors and 1 x 12 arrays have been fabricated and characterized. They consist of sol-gel-deposited PZT thin-film elements on micromachined Si3N4/SiO2 membranes. The measured current and voltage response as a function of modulation frequency of a 1 x 12 array element is compared with finite-element calculations.

Thin Film Dielectric Ion Sensors
Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1993A new type of ion sensor was developed. Thin film perovskite materials such as BaTiO 3 were deposited onto a metal electrode by a hydrothermal-electrochemical method in an autoclave. The resultant electrode was paired with a counterelectrode and immersed in solution.
