Composite material identification as micropolar continua via an optimization approach

open access: yesComposites Part C: Open Access, 2023
A strategy based on material homogenization and heuristic optimization for the structural identification of composite materials is proposed. The objective is the identification of the constitutive properties of a micropolar continuum model employed to ...

ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF THE ELECTROACOUSTIC TRANSDUCER UNDER THE CONDITION OF A THIN DOUBLE LAYER IN THE POROUS STRUCTURE OF THE TRANSDUCER BODY [PDF]

open access: yesNAUCHNOE PRIBOROSTROENIE, 2021
In the approximation of a thin double layer, simple dependences of the acoustic fields excited in an electrokinetic electroacoustic transducer on the velocity of the Helmholtz—Smolukhovsky osmotic movement are obtained. From the dependencies it follows that in the absence of losses, when the nonlinearity of the fluid motion equation does not yet affect

White feces syndrome of shrimp arises from transformation, sloughing and aggregation of hepatopancreatic microvilli into vermiform bodies superficially resembling gregarines. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Accompanying acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) in cultivated Asian shrimp has been an increasing prevalence of vermiform, gregarine-like bodies within the shrimp hepatopancreas (HP) and midgut.

The Characteristics of Deep-Water Gravity Flow in the Sublacustrine Fan of the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation in the Huachi Area, Ordos Basin

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In the Ordos Basin, one of the most important oil- and gas-bearing basins, the Triassic Yanchang Formation has formed important source rocks, but is also a typical representative of continental deep-water sedimentation.

Graph-Theoretic Approach for the Dynamic Simulation of Flexible Multibody Systems

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2012
This paper provides a general description of a variational graph-theoretic formulation for simulation of flexible multibody systems (FMSs) which includes a brief review of linear graph principles required to formulate this algorithm.

Intracellular processing of disease-associated α-synuclein in the human brain suggests prion-like cell-to-cell spread

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2014
Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), Parkinson’s disease (PD) and multiple system atrophy are characterized by the deposition of disease-associated α-synuclein.

Body engineering structure for ZnO thin-film transistors: a Schottky-contact-merged ZnO TFT [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Information Display, 2013
In this paper, a new body engineering structure for ZnO thin-film transistors (TFTs), a Schottky-contact-merged (SCM) ZnO TFT, is proposed, in which the Schottky contact is formed on the body of the ZnO TFT to improve the electrical characteristics without requiring an additional mask and process.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
