Charge‐Induced Morphing Gels for Bioinspired Actuation
This study introduces a novel electroactive actuation mechanism that enables the gel material to generate substantial and reversible shape‐changing while preserving topological and isochoric (volumetric) equivalence. The resultant morphing behaviors can mimic the movements of muscle‐driven organelles in nature, including cilia‐like beating and ...

Imprint of Accretion Disk-Induced Migration on Gravitational Waves from Extreme Mass Ratio Inspirals
We study the effects of a thin gaseous accretion disk on the inspiral of a stellar--mass black hole into a supermassive black hole. We construct a phenomenological angular momentum transport equation that reproduces known disk effects.

A minimally invasive, transepithelial corneal cross‐linking (TE‐CXL) approach is presented using upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs)‐loaded contact lenses (UCLs), after topical delivery of hyaluronate–riboflavin conjugates. The NIR‐to‐UV/blue light conversion by UCNPs in a UCL can activate riboflavin for TE‐CXL, resulting in the biomechanical strength ...

Elemental Abundance Survey of The Galactic Thick Disk
[Abridged abstract] We have performed an abundance analysis for 176 F- and G- dwarfs of the Galactic thick disk component. Using accurate radial velocities combined with $Hipparcos$ astrometry, kinematics (U, V, and W) and Galactic orbital parameters ...

Microsphere Autolithography—A Scalable Approach for Arbitrary Patterning of Dielectric Spheres
MicroSphere Autolithography (µSAL) enables scalable fabrication of patchy particles with customizable surface motifs. Focusing light through dielectric microspheres creates well defined, tunable patches via a conformal poly(dopamine) photoresist. Nearly arbitrary surface patterns can be achieved, with the resolution set by the index contrast between ...

The properties of slim accretion disks, while crucial for our understanding of black hole growth, have yet to be studied extensively observationally. We analyze the multiepoch broadband spectral energy distribution of the changing-look active galactic ...

Precursor Mineral Phases of Forming Mollusk Shell Nacre: A Study of Hydrated Samples
Mineral, organic phase, and water are the essential components in mollusk shell nacre formation. Their interplay is not well understood, because the hydrated material is difficult to observe at high resolution, under close to native conditions. Forming nacre is studied using environmental and cryo‐electron microscopy and hydrated ACC phases, together ...
