Vertical Structure of the Milky Way Disk with Gaia DR3
Using a complete sample of about 330,000 dwarf stars, well measured by Gaia DR3, limited to the galactic north and south solid angles |b|700 pc and points to the presence of more stars beyond the thin disk that cannot be accounted for by the two-disk ...

Oxygen abundance in local disk and bulge: chemical evolution with a strictly universal IMF [PDF]
The empirical differential oxygen abundance distribution (EDOD) is deduced from subsamples related to two different samples involving solar neighbourhood (SN) thick disk, thin disk, halo, and bulge stars. The EDOD of the SN thick + thin disk is determined by weighting the mass, for assumed SN thick to thin disk mass ratio within the range, 0.1-0.9 ...

Elasticity of Diametrically Compressed Microfabricated Woodpile Lattices
Modulus–porosity relationship is derived for woodpile lattices with struts under diametrical compression. The formula presented here that Young's modulus is proportional to the square of the volume fraction E˜ρ2$E \sim \left(\rho\right)^{2}$ is shown to be consistent with computations and laboratory experiments on 3D‐printed samples.

An electronic system is presented consisting of a silver thin‐film electrode on a polyimide substrate working both as a heating element and a resistive temperature sensor, generating millisecond heat pulses with very fast heating and cooling rates and a flat peak temperature with a tunable duration.

Radiation Transport Two-temperature GRMHD Simulations of Warped Accretion Disks
In many black hole (BH) systems, the accretion disk is expected to be misaligned with respect to the BH spin axis. If the scale height of the disk is much smaller than the misalignment angle, the spin of the BH can tear the disk into multiple ...

Investigating the Lower Limit of Metallicity for the Galactic Thin Disk
We explore the metal-poor regime of the Galactic disk on the distribution of stars in the [ α /M]– V _ϕ plane, to identify the most metal-poor thin disk (MPTnD) stars belonging to the low- α sequence.

Hydrostatic bearings excel in high‐precision applications, but their performance hinges on a continuous external supply. This study evaluates various material combinations for sliding surfaces to mitigate damage during supply failures or misalignment and to discover the most effective materials identified for enhancing the reliability and efficiency of
