Fabrication and Optical Properties of Transparent P(VDF-TrFE) Ultrathin Films
The films of vinylidene fluoride and trifluoroethylene (P(VDF-TrFE)) are widely used in piezoelectric tactile sensors, vibration energy harvesters, optical frequency conversion materials and organic photo-voltaic devices because of high electroactive ...

Characterization of highly anisotropic three-dimensionally nanostructured surfaces [PDF]
Generalized ellipsometry, a non-destructive optical characterization technique, is employed to determine geometrical structure parameters and anisotropic dielectric properties of highly spatially coherent three-dimensionally nanostructured thin films grown by glancing angle deposition.

Far infrared and terahertz spectroscopy of ferroelectric soft modes in thin films: A review [PDF]
Far-infrared and terahertz spectroscopy of ferroelectric soft and central modes in thin films on substrates is reviewed. In addition to classical displacive proper ferroelectrics, also incipient and relaxor ferroelectrics and multiferroics are discussed.

Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Mn doped Benzimidazole Thin Films [PDF]
In the present work, the Mn doped benzimidazole (BMZ) thin films were prepared by simple chemical bath deposition technique. The material was directly deposited as thin film on glass substrates and the metal concentration in the solution was varied in weight percentage in order to investigate the dopant effect on the properties of thin films. Similarly,

Hydrogel‐Based Capacitive Sensor Model for Ammonium Monitoring in Aquaculture
Traditional techniques for monitoring aquaculture water quality, particularly ammonium levels, harm fish. This work presents a novel capacitive sensor with an ionic hydrogel transducer to monitor ammonium concentration in real time based on the ammonium‐induced hydrogel dissociation and osmotic pressure. Monitoring aquaculture water quality, especially

Density and Microstructure of Amorphous Carbon Thin Films [PDF]
In this work, we studied amorphous carbon ($a$-C) thin films deposited using direct current (dc) and high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) techniques. The microstructure and electronic properties reveal subtle differences in $a$-C thin films deposited by two techniques.

Additive manufacturing of magnesium alloys by laser is difficult because the melting point of the oxide layer is much higher than the evaporation temperature of the metal underneath. Making the oxide layer thinner can solve this problem. Alloying magnesium with strontium makes the oxide layer thinner, especially at 0.5 wt%.

This article examines the effect of postprocessing heat treatment on 316L stainless steel (SS316L) produced via laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Heat treatment slightly affects property anisotropy, reduces strength, and enhances elongation. However, it increases corrosion susceptibility due to nanoscale precipitations, though overall corrosion ...

Ohmic Contact of Cu/Mo and Cu/Ti Thin Layers on Multi-Crystalline Silicon Substrates [PDF]
Cu-Mo and Cu-Ti contact structures were fabricated on multi-crystalline silicon substrates to provide a low resistance ohmic contact. Deposition steps are done in an excellent vacuum chamber by means of electron beam evaporation and samples are then ...

Thickness Effect on Fluctuation of Electron States in Thin Film and Implication to Lattice Constant Change Due to Size Reduction [PDF]
We propose a model for predicting the fluctuations of electron states in thin films as function of film thickness. The model was derived based on the assumption of the existence of potential barrier fluctuations on the film surface. Since the wave functions of electrons in the film is determined by the boundary conditions of potential on the film ...
