Mechanical Behavior and Microstructural Changes Associated with Tensile Deformation above the Martensite Start Temperature during Quenching and Subsequent Partitioning of a Low‐Alloy 37SiB6 Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A new experimental setup, incorporating digital image correlation and infrared thermography in combination with inductive‐conductive heating for precise temperature control, is used to analyze the mechanical behavior and microstructural changes of sheet metal under complex thermomechanical test conditions that represent quench and partitioning ...

Defect-induced shift of the Peierls transition in TTF-TCNQ thin films [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
In this paper we investigate the influence of the substrate material and film thickness on the Peierls transition temperature in tetrathiafulvalene-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TTF-TCNQ) thin films, grown by physical vapor deposition. Our analysis shows that the substrate material and the growth conditions strongly influence the film morphology.

Imbalanced Surface Charge Induced Phase Segregation in Mixed Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The key factor determining the phase segregation in mixed halide perovskites (MHP) is the intrinsic imbalanced surface charges in the crystal lattice. MHP films with excellent crystallinity and surface morphology can suffer severe phase segregation.

Design of a Neural Network-Based VCO With High Linearity and Wide Tuning Range

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, a 2 GHz LC-VCO with neural network (Multilayer Perceptron) has been designed in a 0.13 ţm CMOS technology. With the integrated neural network, the linearity and tuning range of the LC-VCO has been substantially improved.

2H‐Au Nanosheet‐Templated Growth of PdFe for Electrocatalytic Methanol Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2H‐to‐face‐centered cubic (fcc) phase transformation of 2H‐Au happens when PdFe alloy epitaxially grows on 2H‐Au nanosheets (NSs), forming 2H/fcc Au@PdFe NSs, and the 2H/fcc phase ratio in 2H/fcc Au@PdFe NSs can be tuned correspondingly by changing the Pd/Fe atomic ratio.

Non-local thin films in Casimir force calculations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
he Casimir force is calculated between plates with thin metallic coating. Thin films are described with spatially dispersive (nonlocal) dielectric functions. For thin films the nonlocal effects are more relevant than for half-spaces. However, it is shown that even for film thickness smaller than the mean free path for electrons, the difference between ...

Highly‐Entangled Hydrogel Electrolyte for Fast Charging/Discharging Properties in Aqueous Zinc Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A highly‐entangled polyacrylamide (HE‐PAM) hydrogel is designed as an aqueous electrolyte for the fast charging/discharging properties in Zn/MnO2 batteries. Such hydrogel electrolyte possessed excellent mechanical characters, stable cycling capability, and superb rate performance under high current densities. These characters can also be applied in the
