On the molecular weight of thiosulfate sulfurtransferase

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1975
Bovine liver thiosulfate sulfurtransferase (rhodanese) (EC 2.8.1.1) HAS BEEN REPORTED TO EXIST IN SOLUTION IN A RAPID, PH-dependent equilibrium between monomeric and dimeric forms of molecular weights 18 500 and 37 000 (Volini, M., DeToma, F. and Westley, J. (1967), J. Biol. Chem. 242, 5220).

Thiocyanate and thiosulfate

1987
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses about the determination of thiocyanate and thiosulfate. Several methods are used for the analytical determination of inorganic thiocyanate. These include procedures based on the formation of colored complexes, either with ferric ions or with cupric ions and pyridine, or on oxidation with bromine followed by ...

Thiosulfate metal complexes

Russian Journal of Coordination Chemistry, 2008
The electronic structure of the thiosulfate ions was determined, which made it possible to predict and confirm experimentally for the first time the nature of their 33S NMR spectra containing two signals of functionally different sulfur atoms. The results of NMR study on different nuclei and the EPR data indicated that the thiosulfate ions as ...

Diastereoselective Synthesis of Thioglycosides via Pd-Catalyzed Allylic Rearrangement.

Organic Letters, 2021
Stereoselective glycosylation is challenging in carbohydrate chemistry. Herein, stereoselective thioglycosylation of glycals via palladium-catalyzed allylic rearrangement yields various substituents on α-isomer thioglycosides. Two comprehensive series of

Metabolism of Thiosulfate in Chlorobium

1988
Thirty-five years ago, Helge Larsen (1952) described the first isolation of a thiosutfate-utilizing Chlorobium which he named Chlorobium thiosulfatophilum. It differed from Chlorobium limicola (Nadson, 1906) just by this one property.

A colorimetric method for the determination of thiosulfate

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1957
A colorimetric procedure for the determination of thiosulfate in concentration as low as 1.10−5M is described. This method is based on the conversion of thiosulfate to thiocyanate in the presence of cyanide and cupric ions, followed by determination of thiocyanate as the iron complex.

Enzymes involved in the metabolism of thiosulfate by Thiobacillus thioparus. III. Properties of thiosulfate-oxidizing enzyme and proposed pathway of thiosulfate oxidation

Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, 1970
Thiosulfate-oxidizing enzyme was purified from Thiobacillus thioparus extracts 120- to 160-fold and the properties were studied. The enzyme had a molecular weight of 115 000 and contained 2 moles of non-heme iron. Ferricyanide was a much better electron acceptor than cytochrome c, but with cytochrome c the Km for thiosulfate was lowered from 0.1 mM to

Indium-mediated Reaction in Aqueous Media. Synthesis of Phenacyl Sulfides by Reactions of α-Bromoketones with Sodium Alkyl Thiosulfates†

, 1998
Phenacyl sulfides are synthesized in moderate to good yields via reaction of α-haloketones with sodium alkyl thiosulfates promoted by indium metal in aqueous media.
