Mandibular third molars and anterior crowding in the lower jaw. A longitudinal study from 15 to 21 years [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The aim of the study is to examine whether presence of third molars contribute to changes in anterior dental alignment in the lower jaw in individuals from adolescence to young adulthood, when compared to the development in individuals with congenitally ...

1T‐to‐2H Phase Evolution During Epitaxial Growth of Transition Metal Dichalcogenides

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
During MOCVD growth of MoS2 and WSe2, a transient metallic 1T phase emerges in early, edge‐rich, chalcogen‐deficient domains and declines as the films ultimately coalesce as 2H material. Together, experiments and ReaxFF simulations link domain size, edge stoichiometry, and vacancies to this evolution.

Charge‐Reversed Lipid Nanoparticles Enable Encapsulation of Pt2L4 Nanocages for In vivo Anti‐Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Charge‐reversed lipid nanoparticles (revLNPs) enable efficient encapsulation and delivery of cationic Pt2L4 nanocages. Encapsulation preserves potent anticancer activity while improving circulation, reducing vascular leakage, and promoting favorable biodistribution in vivo.

Robust Spin Splitting and Fermiology in the Layered Altermagnet CoNb4${\rm CoNb}_4$Se8${\rm Se}_8$

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The emergence of an altermagnetic phase is demonstrated in the cobalt‐intercalated superconducting 2H‐NbSe2 polymorph. A combined theoretical and experimental approach directly probes the magnetism, the altermagnetic lifting of Kramers degeneracy, and the electronic phase space, establishing CoNb4Se8 as the first g‐wave altermagnetic layered material ...

Root anatomy and canal configuration of human permanent maxillary third molar — a systematic review

open access: yesFolia Morphologica
Knowledge of the configuration of root canals is essential for the success of endodontic treatment. The main aim of this systematic review was to determine the number of roots and the number of root canals in maxillary third molars, as well as where ...

Synthesis of Ti2B2Clx MBenes in Molten Salts From Theoretical and Experimental Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By integrating a theoretical framework with experiments, Ti2InB2 was selectively etched with ZnCl2 to produce a multilayer (ml) Ti2B2Clx MBene. The In atoms are completely removed, with simultaneous incorporation of chlorine surface terminations. in situ x‐ray diffraction indicates a direct biphasic transformation from Ti2InB2 to ml‐MBene, with no ...

Design of High‐Energy Anode for All‐Solid‐State Lithium Batteries–A Model with Borohydride‐Based Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study proposes a function‐sharing anode design to enable nonmetallic lithium insertion while maintaining intimate interfacial contact with the solid‐state electrolyte. A combination of lithium‐compatible and conformable borohydrides, highly conformable indium metal, less‐graphitized acetylene black, and a layer of highly graphitized massive ...

Effect of extraction of permanent first molars on the development and eruption of third molars [PDF]

open access: yes
BACKGROUND AND AIM: It is required in many young patients that permanent first molars (PFMs) be extracted due to poor prognosis. This study investigates whether the extraction of such teeth is effective on the development of third molars and even their ...

Scalable Production of Disordered Nickel‐Iron‐Aluminum Oxides as Stable Anodes for Water Electrolysis: The Role of Aluminum

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Solution precursor plasma spraying enables the scalable fabrication of porous and disordered nickel‐iron‐aluminum oxide coatings as precious‐metal‐free anodes. Aluminum inhibits crystal growth, optimizes local atomic sites, and enhances charge and ion transport to accelerate reaction kinetics, leading to excellent performance and operational stability.
