The polar analysis of the Third-order Shear Deformation Theory of laminates [PDF]

open access: yesComposite Structures, 2015
In this paper the Verchery’s polar method is extended to the conceptual framework of the Reddy’s Third-order Shear Deformation Theory (TSDT) of laminates. In particular, a mathematical representation based upon tensor invariants is derived for all the laminate stiffness matrices (basic and higher-order stiffness terms).

Analytical solutions for the hygro-thermo-mechanical bending of FG beams using a new fifth order shear and normal deformation theory

open access: yesApplied and Computational Mechanics, 2020
A new analytical solution is presented for functionally graded (FG) beams to investigate the bending behaviour under the hygro-thermo-mechanical loading using a new fifth order shear and normal deformation theory (FOSNDT).

Flexural Behaviour of Nanocomposite Plate with CNT Distribution and Agglomeration Effect [PDF]

open access: yesMechanics of Advanced Composite Structures, 2023
The behavior of various CNT distributions with agglomeration effects on FG plates is investigated in this paper under static loading. Here, to model the FG plate third-order shear deformation theory has been used and a FEM code has been developed. In the

Free Vibration Response of Agglomerated Carbon Nanotube-Reinforced Nanocomposite Plates [PDF]

open access: yesMechanics of Advanced Composite Structures, 2023
The current investigation deals with the effect of carbon nanotube (CNT) agglomeration on the free vibration behavior of nanocomposite plates created by inserting various graded distributions of carbon nanotube (CNT) in a polymeric matrix. In this study,

A new simple shear deformation plate theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper proposes a new simple shear deformation theory for isotropic plates. The present theory involves one unknown and one governing equation as in the classical plate theory, but it is capable of accurately capturing shear deformation effects.

A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory is developed for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates. The theory accounts for sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress, and satisfies the free transverse shear stress ...

Natural frequencies analysis of functionally graded circular cylindrical shells

open access: yesApplied and Computational Mechanics, 2021
In the present work, a study on natural frequencies of functionally graded materials (FGM) circular cylindrical shells is presented. The FGM is considered to be a mixture of two materials.
