Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

L’architecture graphique en tiers lieu, une réaffirmation de la création sensible face aux risques de déshumanisation du numérique

open access: yesCulture e Studi del Sociale
The Robert dictionary defines in 2023 the third place as «A social space for citizens’ initiatives, where a community can meet, meet, exchange and share resources, skills and knowledge. Third places create new economic and social dynamics».

THIRD PLACE AND NOSTALGIA IN POSTCOLONIAL JAKARTA: ADAPTIVE REUSE OF CIKINI POST OFFICE

open access: yesParadigma: Jurnal Kajian Budaya
The transformation of postcolonial urban spaces involves cultural practices that reshape collective memory and identity. This study examines the adaptive reuse of a colonial- era heritage building into a culturally inclusive third place in postcolonial ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Third Places’ Counter-Practices: Understanding Shifting Boundaries Between Private and Public Space in Urban China

open access: yesUrban Science
Rapid urbanisation in contemporary China has intensified pressures on private living environments, prompting domestic practices to increasingly unfold within third places, specifically privately owned commercial interiors. A representative example is the

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

The Spatial Practices of Working Women in Third Place: Contributions to Urban Environmental Sustainability

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology
Third place is defined as informal public spaces that foster social connections and community cohesion, playing a crucial role in urban environments. However, third place is often underexplored from the perspective of working women and contributions to ...
