Abstract Sodium‐glucose co‐transporters (SGLTs) mediate sodium and glucose transport across cell membranes. SGLT2 inhibitors have a recognized place within heart failure (HF) guidelines. We evaluated the effect of sotagliflozin on HF and cardiovascular outcomes in participants with type 2 diabetes. Scopus, Medline, Embase and Central were searched from

Abstract Aims Blood levels of N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) may be modified by low renal clearance and anaemia. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of the blood NT‐proBNP level on cardiovascular and renal outcomes in patients with these two manifestations.

Abstract Aims The prognostic role of high‐sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs‐cTnT) as a biomarker in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) has yet to be fully determined, especially when compared with B‐type natriuretic peptide (BNP). Methods and Results In this post‐hoc analysis of the ILLUMINATE‐CS (ILLUstration of the Management and prognosIs of ...

Abstract Aims Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) continues to be an increasingly common health problem associated with a high mortality rate. Elevated levels of Growth differentiation factor‐15 (GDF15) and N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) are reportedly associated with poor clinical outcomes in a broad range of ...

Xanthogranulomas of the Third Ventricle
Neurosurgery, 1979Abstract Two patients with xanthogranuloma of the 3rd ventricle are described. In each instance the tumor obstructed the interventricular foramina and caused dilatation of the lateral ventricles and signs of increased intracranial pressure; computerized tomography demonstrated the dense, nonenhancing lesion in the anterior 3rd ventricle.

Acta Neurochirurgica, 2001
The authors report the case of a 29-year-old female who presented with symptoms of shunt dysfunction 11 years after first being shunted for an aqueductal stenosis. After numerous revisions she developed an isolated third ventricle, necessitating triventricular shunting to obtain a new equilibrium.

Hemangioblastoma of the Third Ventricle
Neurosurgery, 1984Abstract A case of intraventricular hemangioblastoma not associated with von Hippel-Lindau disease is presented. Only one other case of intraventricular hemangioblastoma has been reported. The literature on supratentorial hemangioblastomas is reviewed, and the problems of histological identification of such lesions are discussed.
