Cavernous Malformations of the Third Ventricle
Neurosurgery, 1995CAVERNOUS MALFORMATIONS ARE uncommon lesions that are usually present in the cerebral hemispheres. Less frequently, these malformations are seen in the brain stem, basal ganglia, or paraventricular regions. We report four cases of cavernous malformations of the third ventricle.

Archives of Neurology & Psychiatry, 1934
Neurologists have recently focused considerable attention on the third ventricle, but their interest has been confined largely to a search for important autonomic nuclei believed to be located within its walls. Less attention has been paid to the structure of the ventricle itself and to its relation to the meninges and their cisternae.

Colloid cyst of the third ventricle
Practical Neurology, 2014A 26-year-old woman gave a 2-year history of intermittent and worsening headaches. MR scan of brain showed a 1.1 cm cystic, peripherally enhancing lesion in the third ventricle, causing obstructive hydrocephalus at the interventricular foramen of Monro (figure 1A, B). She underwent endoscopic intraventricular resection through a left frontal burr hole.

Paraphysial cyst of the third ventricle
The American Journal of Surgery, 1956Abstract The radiologic criteria for the diagnosis of a paraphysial cyst of the third ventricle are all based on pneumographic studies. These have been summarized in detail by Bull and Sutton.1 In none of the previously reported cases in which pneumographic studies are available has the cyst actually been visualized with air and fluid, as was done ...

Colloid Cysts of the Third Ventricle
Radiology, 1974The clinical and roentgenographic features of 25 cases of colloid cyst of the third ventricle are described. Of all brain tumors, the colloid cyst is one of the most favorable for surgical removal, hence the need for an exact preoperative diagnosis is emphasized.

A teratoma of the third ventricle of the brain
Acta Neurochirurgica, 1979A report is presented here of the total extirpation of a teratoma located in the third ventricle of a boy of eight. Since the tumour was made up of mature tissues (adult teratoma), its extirpation may be regarded as a cure. Although there are a few exceptions to the rule, other tumours located in the third ventricle of brain are mostly malignant, and ...

Xanthogranuloma of the third ventricle
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1979✓ The case history of a patient with a xanthogranuloma of the third ventricle is presented. This type of lesion formed by desquamation of epithelium is usually noted as an incidental autopsy finding in the choroid plexus of the lateral ventricles. Total removal via a transcortical transventricular route led to complete recovery.

Complications of Third Ventricle Surgery
Pediatric Neurosurgery, 1991The anatomy and physiology of the structures in the region of the third ventricle are reviewed as they pertain to the various surgical approaches to this area. The peri-third ventricular area of the brain, an area less than 1% of the whole brain, is the center for a host of homeostatic mechanisms; temperature, osmolality, pituitary endocrine function ...
