BIN1 and ALDH1B1 Deficiency in Colonic Smooth Muscle Drives Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Fibrosis in Slow‐Transit Constipation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Slow‐transit constipation (STC) is a disabling motility disorder with unclear smooth‐muscle mechanisms. Spatial proteomic analysis of STC patient colon reveals both the central pathogenic role of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in STC and novel regulators of intestinal motility, BIN1 and ALDH1B1.

Ectopic pituitary null cell adenoma arising from the infundibulum in the third ventricle: A successful endonasal transsphenoidal resection after long-term follow-up MR imaging – A technical note

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2017
Background: Since the origin and growth pattern of third ventricle ectopic pituitary adenoma (ectPA) remain unclear, its optimal surgical approach is debatable. Clinical presentation: We present a rare case of null cell pituitary adenoma arising from the

Cross‐Modal Denoising and Integration of Spatial Multi‐Omics Data with CANDIES

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this paper, we introduce CANDIES, which leverages a conditional diffusion model and contrastive learning to effectively denoise and integrate spatial multi‐omics data. We conduct extensive evaluations on diverse synthetic and real datasets, CANDIES shows superior performance on various downstream tasks, including denoising, spatial domain ...

Synchronization‐Dissipation in the Cardiorespiratory System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By modeling central nervous coupling and viscoelastic interactions in the cardiorespiratory system we show that synchronization produces a 10% gain in cardiac efficiency in humans. It is surmised that respiratory sinus arrhythmia improves cardiac pumping efficiency by reducing dynamic stress and power dissipation in the pulmonary vasculature.

Endoscopic third ventriculostomy may have long term efficacy in low birth weight preterm newborns

open access: yesBrazilian Neurosurgery, 2013
Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) is an established treatment for hydrocephalus and is an alternative method avoiding shunts and its complications. There is still controversy regarding the higher risk of failure in younger infants.

A Dual‐Channel Synergistic Ultrasensitive Biosensor for Tumor Liquid Biopsy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Liquid biopsy technology, which detects circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in cerebrospinal fluid, plays a crucial role in the early diagnosis and precision treatment of gliomas. However, the intrinsically low abundance and rapid clearance of ctDNA pose substantial challenges for conventional analytical techniques, such as droplet digital PCR and ...

Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...

SpaMode: A Broadly Applicable Framework for Deciphering Spatial Multi‐Omics Using Multimodal Mixture of Disentangled Experts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SpaMode introduces a versatile framework for spatial multi‐omics integration across vertical, horizontal, and mosaic scenarios. By disentangling modality‐invariant and variant features through a mixture‐of‐experts mechanism, it adaptively reconfigures spatially heterogeneous signals.

Colloidal cyst of the third ventricle. Case presentation

open access: yesMedisur, 2009
Colloidal cysts are congenital intracranial benign lesions of the anterior superior portion of the third ventricle. They represent between the 0,2 and 2 % of all the intracranial tumours and represent the 15 or 20 % of all the intraventricular masses ...
