ABSTRACT Seasonal environmental fluctuations profoundly influence ectothermic vertebrates, regulating their physiology, metabolism, and life cycles. This study investigated the metabolic and morphometric seasonal dynamics of the subtropical sand lizard Liolaemus arambarensis, an endangered species endemic to the coastal dunes of southern Brazil.

Characterisation of Drought and Wet Events in the Paraíba do Sul River Basin—Brazil
Trend analysis identified statistically significant reductions in precipitation (at the 5% significance level) at specific pluviometric stations in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, while other areas, mainly in Minas Gerais, experienced significant increases in annual and seasonal rainfall, particularly during summer and spring. These significant trends at

Strategies for Assessing Post‐Wildfire Geomorphic Resilience in Semiarid Rivers
ABSTRACT We review and summarize diverse components of a catchment that can be monitored after wildfire to assess the geomorphic resilience of the river corridor in semiarid regions. We distinguish upland portions of river catchments from river corridors.

Potential Impacts of Low Flows on Fish Foodscapes and Production in a Braided River
ABSTRACT Changes in river discharge affect the physical composition and connectivity of habitats which, in turn, may shape the spatial distribution of fish food abundance, accessibility and quality—the ‘foodscape’—of river ecosystems. However, the influence of river flows on fish foodscapes has received very little attention from scientists. We studied

ABSTRACT The global prevalence of iron (Fe) deficiency anemia (IDA) continues to pose major public health challenges, necessitating the development of effective fortification strategies. Dairy‐based systems are promising vehicles for Fe fortification and delivery due to their widespread consumption and nutritional value, although their complex matrix ...

Abstract Aims Early detection of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and prediabetes is critical to reduce disease burden, yet disadvantaged populations often remain undiagnosed. We assessed a pharmacy‐based pathway using verified point‐of‐care HbA1c testing to identify prediabetes and enable engagement with a digital prevention programme and established the ...

An Outflow Tract Myocardium‐Specific Enhancer at the Sema3c Locus During Heart Development
Focusing on an OFT‐specific differentially accessible region, in the present study, we defined a distal OFT myocardial enhancer whose activity depends on GATA binding sites. This enhancer provides insight into the mechanisms underlying spatially restricted Sema3c expression involved in OFT development.
