Beyond salaries: Teachers' experiences of navigating early years education amid economic instability in Türkiye

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The intersection of economic conditions and early years education has long been debated, particularly where financial constraints shape educational practice and professional realities. Türkiye, characterised by high inflation and structural vulnerabilities in purchasing power parity, provides a critical context for examining how economic ...

Calibration estimation of population total using multi-auxiliary information in the presence of non-response

open access: yesScientific Reports
This paper considers the problem of estimation of the population total under probability proportional to size (PPS) sampling scheme when complete data is not available due to the presence of missing observations or non-response.

Teacher confidence and student engagement with mental health and wellbeing lessons: Learning from an iterative curriculum intervention in schools

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The mental health and wellbeing of young people has received increasing attention in both research and the wider public discourse. There has been a marked rise in mental health conditions in young people, and the burden of care is increasingly transferred onto schools and teachers.

Automorphisms of Thompson groups

open access: yes, 2021
In this work, based on a Brin's article, we explain the structure of automorphism group of F, via a short exact sequence involving the subgroup of automorphisms of F together with the product of two copies of Thompson s group T. We will use a key theorem by McCleary and Rubin to realize each automorphism as conjugation by a homeomorphism in R.

Nicotinamide Reverses the Warburg Effect in CHO Cell Culture

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The Warburg effect, the preferential conversion of glucose‐derived pyruvat to lactate despite available oxygen, is a key feature of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell culture. Lactate accumulation in recombinant protein‐producing cell culture is an inefficient usage of glucose, as well as being deleterious to cells.

Magnons and spikes for N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 linear quivers and their non-Abelian T-duals

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We compute the spectra associated with various semiclassical string states that propagate over N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 Gaiotto-Maldacena backgrounds. As an interesting special case, for the Abelian T- dual solution, we discover giant magnon and single ...

A review of the historic and present ecological role of aquatic and shoreline wood, from forest to deep sea

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ecology of forests, their losses, and terrestrial wood decomposition dynamics have been intensively studied and reviewed. In the aquatic realm, reviews have concentrated on large wood (LW) in rivers and the transition from freshwater to marine environments in the Pacific Northwest of North America. However, a comprehensive global synthesis

Shaping research in marine functional connectivity for integrated and effective marine science and management

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective knowledge of ecological connectivity at sea and at the land–sea interface is key to supporting global policy goals to conserve and restore ocean biodiversity and function. However, a persistent lack of commonality in terminology and understanding around the concept of connectivity in marine ecological studies hampers its integration ...

The spread of non‐native species

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The global redistribution of species through human agency is one of the defining ecological signatures of the Anthropocene, with biological invasions reshaping biodiversity patterns, ecosystem processes and services, and species interactions globally.
