Heat‐Not‐Burn Tobacco Aerosols Induce Immune Dysregulation and Barrier Disruption Comparable to Conventional Cigarettes

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Comparative analysis between cigarette smokers and HnB users revealed similar inflammatory lung function parameters and immunophenotypic patterns. Cigarette smoke and HnB aerosol had an impact on ECM through divergent downstream pathways. Exposed to Cigarette smoke and HnB aerosol caused comparative TJ weakening in the epithelial barrier.

Peri‐operative rehabilitation in patients undergoing elective cardiac valve surgery: a randomised controlled trial

open access: yesAnaesthesia, EarlyView.
Summary Introduction Patients with valvular heart disease are at high risk of postoperative pulmonary complications, which contribute to morbidity and mortality. However, few studies have focused specifically on peri‐operative rehabilitation in this patient population.

Prognostic value of fetal growth and prenatal functional echocardiography in tetralogy of FALLOT

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
First demonstration that fetal growth and pulmonary peak velocity at third trimester are independent predictors of postnatal outcome in Tetralogy of Fallot. This may enhance the accuracy of prenatal counseling and facilitate more individualized planning for delivery and neonatal care. Abstract Introduction Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) shows variability in

Biliary Glutathione as a Potential Marker for Viability Assessment of Cholangiocytes During Normothermic Machine Perfusion of Livers

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
This study identifies biliary glutathione concentration during normothermic machine perfusion as a potential biomarker for biliary viability. Increasing GSH levels correlate with fewer biliary complications post‐transplant, supporting its role in assessing graft quality and improving decision‐making in liver transplantation.

Optimizing Donor Kidneys During Normothermic Machine Perfusion With Sevoflurane: Design of a Research Model

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
A stable kidney normothermic machine perfusion model with sevoflurane delivery via a vaporizer was established, enabling mechanistic and therapeutic studies of ischemia–reperfusion injury. ABSTRACT Normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) of donor kidneys provides an opportunity not only for organ preservation but also for therapeutic intervention to ...

Follow‐Up of Left‐Ventricular Assist Device Patients With Telemonitoring: A National Retrospective Multicentric Study on the Satelia LVAD Web Application

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
We evaluated the usefulness of remote monitoring for advanced heart failure patients using left‐ventricular assist devices (LVADs) in France. A national, retrospective study on a web application (Satelia) at nine locations was conducted. Specialized remote monitoring could facilitate LVAD follow‐ups and improve outcomes.
