Abstract The aim of this study was to explore the primary afferent depolarization mechanism, to determine whether the soleus transspinal evoked potential (TEP), elicited through transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation over the L1–L2 level, is modulated by presynaptic inhibition and heteronymous facilitation, similar to the Hoffmann (H) reflex, elicited ...

Abstract figure legend We used an intersectional approach with recombinase‐expressing mice and adeno‐associated virus to map and modulate distinct nociceptive afferents in the vagal ganglia. TRPV1+P2X2+ neurons resided in the nodose ganglion (N), innervated the lungs (many projected into the alveoli) but not the trachea, and projected to the nucleus ...

High‐Resolution 3‐Dimensional Micro‐CT Imaging of Intervertebral Discs Using a Novel Contrast Agent
This study introduces the first use of a contrast agent (potassium iodide) to enhance 3D imaging of the nucleus pulposus within an intact intervertebral disc (IVD). This method was used to demonstrate consistent 3D imaging of the nucleus pulposus across multiple animal models, including spine and tail IVDs.

Use of ultrasound to estimate tracheal diameter in unclipped brachycephalic dogs: A pilot study
Abstract Background A significant contributory factor to the brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome index of bulldogs is the diameter of their tracheas. Bulldogs are predisposed to tracheal hypoplasia. A non‐invasive, financially reasonable and widely accessible screening test for tracheal diameter would be useful for assessing the most appropriate
