Post-operative CT assessment of interbody fusion two years\ud after thoracoscopic scoliosis surgery

open access: yes, 2011
The relationship between radiologic union and clinical outcome in thoracoscopic scoliosis surgery is not clear, as apparent non-union of a spinal fusion does not always correspond to a poor clinical result. The aim of this study was to evaluate CT fusion

Surgical Invasiveness Trumps Chronological Age: Determinants of Short‐Term Recovery in Octogenarian Lung Cancer Patients

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 11, June 2026.
This graphical abstract summarizes outcomes in 106 octogenarian lung cancer patients managed with minimally invasive surgery under ERAS. Sublobar resection was associated with faster recovery than lobectomy, with shorter length of stay and chest tube duration.

Revisiting Thoracic Duct Resection in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Propensity‐Matched Analysis and Immunologic Insight Into Recurrence Risk

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 11, June 2026.
Thoracic duct resection did not improve overall or recurrence‐free survival in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma after McKeown esophagectomy. In node‐negative patients, it was associated with a higher recurrence risk, supporting selective thoracic duct preservation when oncologically feasible.
