Neoadjuvant Glucocorticoids Facilitate Resection in Advanced B‐Type Thymomas: A Propensity‐Matched Analysis of Surgical and Survival Outcomes

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 1, January 2026.
Neoadjuvant glucocorticoids facilitated less invasive and more complete resection of advanced B‐type thymomas, leading to reduced operative morbidity and improved progression‐free survival compared to upfront surgery. This study supports a novel downstaging strategy for this challenging disease.

Trends and Survival Outcomes of Lung Cancer Surgery in South Korea, 2015–2019

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 2, January 2026.
Among 36 663 Korean patients undergoing curative lung cancer resection (2015–2019), the use of segmentectomy and wedge resection increased while pneumonectomy declined. In multivariable Cox models, lobectomy was associated with the most favorable survival in patients aged 46–75 years (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR] 0.789; 95% CI 0.734–0.849), whereas ...

An observational study of pre‐hospital central venous access for patients with haemorrhagic shock due to major trauma

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 81, Issue 1, Page 83-91, January 2026.
Summary Introduction Exsanguinating haemorrhagic shock due to major trauma is associated with high mortality. Rapid intravenous volume replacement with blood products is a crucial element of early treatment. When peripheral intravenous access cannot be obtained, pre‐hospital placement of a large‐calibre central venous catheter, known as a trauma line ...

Brachial Plexus Block Following Serratus Anterior Plane Block After Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery Identified Using Contrast X‐Ray: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Anesthesiology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
A serratus anterior plane block is effective for pain management after minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS) but may cause rare complications. In this study, we present a case of upper limb neurological symptoms following a serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) administered after MICS, which was visualized via contrast x‐ray imaging.
