Mass spectrometry reveals age‐dependent collagen decline in murine atria
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, EarlyView.Using mass spectrometry, we analyzed the atrial ECM of young (12 weeks) and old (77 weeks) C57BL/6J mice. Results showed a marked decrease in collagen content with age, alongside increases in specific ECM‐related proteins (e.g., MMP9, S100A9, VWA3A).
