Sustainable recovery of rare Earth elements from industrial waste: A path to circular economy and environmental health

open access: yesWaste Management Bulletin
Rare earth elements (REEs) play a vital role in digitalization and industrialization. Naturally occurring in bastnasite, monazite, and xenotime, REEs are primarily concentrated in China, Australia, and the USA, leading to dependence on secondary sources.

Synthesis and characterization of Cyanex 272-modified supeparamagnetic magnetite nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم و فنون هسته‌ای, 2015
The in-situ polyethylene glycol coated superparamagnetic magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles (SPMNPs) were prepared by a co-precipitation method from the acidic solutions of FeCl2.4H2O and FeCl3.6H2O, containing polyethylene glycol (PEG), using aqueous ...

CellPolaris: Transfer Learning for Gene Regulatory Network Construction to Guide Cell State Transitions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CellPolaris decodes how transcription factors guide cell fate by building gene regulatory networks from transcriptomic data using transfer learning. It generates tissue‐ and cell‐type‐specific networks, identifies master regulators in cell state transitions, and simulates TF perturbations in developmental processes.

Electricity Generation Options for a Future Low Carbon Energy Mix for Malaysia

open access: yesASM Science Journal, 2019
Malaysia’s electricity generation mix is mainly based on fossil fuels, particularly natural gas and coal with a smaller share of large hydroelectric and non-hydroelectric renewable energy resources. The present work aims to analyse and assess the ongoing

Exclusive Breastfeeding Drives AMPK‐Dependent Thermogenic Memory in BAT and Promotes Long‐Term Metabolic Benefits in Offspring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exclusive breastfeeding establishes a thermogenic memory in brown adipose tissue by activating the HIF1AN/AMPK/α‐ketoglutarate axis via milk‐derived extracellular vesicles enriched in miR‐125a‐5p. This programming preserves metabolic health, while αKG supplementation restores BAT function under mixed feeding, offering strategies to mitigate the ...

Stress‐Induced Activation of Prolactin‐NR4A1‐Midkine Axis Exacerbates Skin Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic psychological stress activates prolactin signaling to reprogram dermal fibroblasts into APCDD1+ inflammatory effectors via NR4A1, driving midkine secretion. This paracrine hub amplifies keratinocyte proliferation and immune recruitment, thus exacerbating skin inflammation.

Wedelolactone, a Novel TLR2 Agonist, Promotes Neutrophil Differentiation and Ameliorates Neutropenia: A Multi‐Omics Approach to Unravel the Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wedelolactone (WED), a natural TLR2 agonist, promotes neutrophil differentiation and enhances bactericidal function, offering a potential therapeutic strategy for neutropenia. Using a multi‐omics approach, this study reveals that WED activates the TLR2/MEK/ERK pathway, upregulating key transcription factors (PU.1, CEBPβ) to drive neutrophil development.
