Advancing Selective Extraction: A Novel Approach for Scandium, Thorium, and Uranium Ion Capture [PDF]
The potential use of thorium (Th) and uranium (U) as nuclear fuels underscores the importance of developing materials for their sustainable recovery. The production of Th and U requires the separation of these elements from rare‐earth elements (REEs) as ...

Resistivity recovery of neutron-irradiated and cold-worked thorium [PDF]
Results from a study of the resistivity recovery of neutron-irradiated and cold-worked thorium on isochronal annealing, activation energies, and isothermal annealing and kinetics are discussed. The nature and extent of radiation effects on the resistivity of thorium at 80/sup 0/K, interpretation of stage II recovery above 80/sup 0/K, and activation ...

RECOVERY OF THORIUM FROM A WYOMING ORE [PDF]
An investigation of Bald Mountain, Wyo. ore was conducted in which it was found that the monazite concentrate prepared from this conglomerate can be decomposed by the conventional sulfuric acid-cure treatment. The resultant acid leach liquor can be processed by primary amine solvent extraction to yield a 99% ThO/sub 2/ product. (J.R.D.)

Simultaneously Recovery of Thorium and Tungsten by Hybrid Electrolysis–Nanofiltration Processes
The recovery and recycling of metals that generate toxic ions in the environment is of particular importance, especially when these are tungsten and, in particular, thorium. The radioactive element thorium has unexpectedly accessible domestic applications (filaments of light bulbs and electronic tubes, welding electrodes, working alloys containing ...
