Enhancing Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalysis in Heazlewoodite: Unveiling the Critical Role of Entropy Levels and Surface Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative high‐entropy heazlewoodite is synthesized, where the formation of a high‐entropy phase significantly enhanced oxygen evolution reaction activity, and the oxidation potential evolved stabilized high‐entropy sulfide‐hydroxide oxide species at the interface improved electrochemical stability. Abstract Entropy engineering has proven effective

Controlled Formation of Skyrmion Bags

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates stabilization of complex magnetic skyrmion bags in ferromagnetic thin films through precisely engineered anisotropy defects using ion irradiation. The researchers achieve controlled field‐ and laser‐induced generation of skyrmionia, target skyrmions, and higher‐order skyrmion bags at room temperature. This reliable platform opens

Alignment, Rising, Sticking, and Phototaxis: Modulating the Behavior of Hematite Micropeanuts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Although a rich variety of behaviors, such as rising and phototaxis, are observed with light‐activated semiconductor microparticles, the experimental conditions under which such behaviors occur have not been elucidated. In this study, pH, fuel concentration, and light intensity are varied, revealing diverse behaviors of hematite microparticles.

Expanding Transparent Covalently Attached Liquid‐Like Surfaces for Icephobic Coatings with Broad Substrate Compatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study introduces an approach for creating liquid‐like slippery surfaces (LLS) on various substrates. An epoxy‐silicon (EpSi) coating is applied, plasma‐activated, and immersed in an organosilane solution, forming siloxane chains. The resulting LLS exhibits ultra‐low ice adhesion, high transparency, self‐cleaning, and anti‐staining properties ...
