Decomposition of memory consumption footprints to identify problematic threads
2014 IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC), 2014Software as a Service(SaaS) solutions are state-of-the-art advancement of the cloud computing technologies that bring on new challenges in terms of cloud system management. It is the usual case where user jobs(macros, scripts, programs, etc.) are executed as threads inside platform processes making the distinction between user jobs very hard to perform.

Energy consumption of CUDA kernels with varying thread topology
Computer Science - Research and Development, 2012The energy consumption and energy awareness of modern GPGPU devices becomes important with large GPGPU based system installations. Measurements of the average power consumption have been done and their predictions are reported in literature. However, by observing several repeatable impacts on energy consumption within our experiments we conclude that ...

Assessment of jeans sewing thread consumption by applying metaheuristic optimization methods
International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology, 2021PurposeThis work highlights the optimization of the consumed amount of sewing thread required to make up a pair of jeans using three different metaheuristic methods; particular swarm optimization (PSO), ant colony optimization (ACO) and genetic algorithm (GA) techniques. Indeed, using metaheuristic optimization techniques enable industrialists to reach

Power consumption estimation of the multi-threaded xinc processor
Proceedings Norchip Conference, 2004., 2005This paper deals with the estimation of the power consumption of embedded system. Recently multithreaded processors have emerged as a viable solution for implementing wireless embedded applications. The main objective of this work is to provide the designer of such system with a fast and reliable method to compare the power consumption of algorithms ...

A new pattern for flexible worker threads with in-place consumption message queues
ACM SIGOPS Operating Systems Review, 2005We present a new pattern for implementing worker threads that is more flexible than traditional patterns. Traditional worker threads receive command messages with enumerated IDs that refer to pre-defined behaviors. In our new pattern, worker threads receive function pointers, and they have only one behavior: invoke the function.

World production and consumption of polyester fibres and thread
Fibre Chemistry, 2006In the last 20 years, PES fibres and thread have developed at very high tempos (by 7.2% a year on average). The share of PES fibres and thread in Asia is 64.6% of the world level for chemical fibres. China is still the unconditional leader, where production of PES fibres from 2004 to 2008 will increase from 11.5 to 18.5 million tons.

Further Studies on Balance and Thread Consumptions of Lock‐stitch Seams
International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology, 1993Studies the effect of thread tension and the stitch length, L, as well as the fabric thickness, t, and its compressive modulus, E, on the seam balance and total thread consumption.
