Three-dimensional motion measurements using feature tracking
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2008Feature tracking was developed to efficiently compute motion measurements from volumetric ultrasound images. Prior studies have demonstrated the motion magnitude accuracy and computation speed of feature tracking. However, the previous feature tracking implementations were limited by performance of their calculations in rectilinear coordinates.

Three-dimensional electromagnetic articulography: A measurement principle
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005A measurement principle of the three-dimensional electromagnetic articulographic device is presented. The state of the miniature receiver coil is described by five variables representing the position in the three-dimensional coordinate system and the rotation angles relative to it.

Three-dimensional optical measurement of instantaneous pressure
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2000Local perturbations in material density induced in a material by a compressional wave give rise to local perturbations in refractive index. Accurate, high-resolution, three-dimensional, optical measurements of an instantaneous refractive index perturbation in a homogeneous, optically transparent medium may be obtained from measurements of scattered ...

Three-dimensional Measurement of Skin Displacement
2020 IEEE Haptics Symposium (HAPTICS), 2020We propose a method of measuring threedimensional skin displacement when a finger traces a texture. We combine the techniques of index matching and stereoscopy; the former makes the textured plate virtually transparent while the latter allows three-dimensional measurement of markers on the skin.

Fetal ocular measurements by three-dimensional ultrasound
Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2013To establish a reference range for normal fetal eye volume (FEV) by three-dimensional ultrasound using Virtual Organ Computer-aided AnaLysis (VOCAL) method and compare the reproducibility between the two trace modes (manual and sphere). This prospective, longitudinal observational study was performed at a single center and involved 71 eyes of 37 fetuses

Measuring three‐dimensional strain distribution in tendon
Journal of Microscopy, 2013SummaryTendons are tough fibrous tissues that facilitate skeletal movement by transferring muscular force to bone. Studies into the effects of mechanical stress on tendons have shown that these can either accelerate healing or cause tendon injuries depending on the load applied.

Three‐dimensional measurement using a single image
Optical Engineering, 1996This study describes a new measurement technique using a single 2-D image of four coplanar points, which are arranged in a square of known size, to measure geometric features on an object, some of which may be hidden from the view of the camera. A new method is also proposed that uses simple equations and an iteration technique to find 3-D coordinates ...

Three-dimensional tremor measurements of the hand
Journal of Biomechanics, 1972Abstract A method is shown for three-dimensional tremor measurements. Measurements with a three-dimensional accelerometer were made to find axes in which the tremor amplitudes are smallest or greatest, so that it is possible to limit the measurements of the tremor for a certain question to only one axis.

Three-dimensional PEA charge measurement system
Proceedings of 2001 International Symposium on Electrical Insulating Materials (ISEIM 2001). 2001 Asian Conference on Electrical Insulating Diagnosis (ACEID 2001). 33rd Symposium on Electrical and Electronic Insulating Materials and Applications in System, 2002This paper describes a new 3D pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) space charge measurement system using an acoustic lens. The new system is able to measure 3D space charge distributions fast enough for practical applications, in addition to the essential benefits of PEA, such as nondestructive observation, easy handling procedure and safety against the ...

Alternative Three-Dimensional Measurement Systems
SNAME 12th Propeller and Shafting Symposium, 2009NAVSEA is currently looking at alternative three-dimensional measurement systems for submarine and aircraft carrier main propulsion shaft and inboard coupling taper inspections. The current system, which consists of ring and plug gages, is unwieldy and is expensive in terms of manpower, time, procurement, and refurbishment costs.
