Perceptual Translucency in 3D Printing Using Surface Texture
We propose a method of reproducing perceptual translucency in three-dimensional printing. In contrast to most conventional methods, which reproduce the physical properties of translucency, we focus on the perceptual aspects of translucency.

Reinforcing polypropylene with graphene-polylactic acid microcapsules for fused-filament fabrication
Fused-filament fabrication (FFF) is an extrusion-based form of three-dimensional (3D) printing for manufacturing parts rapidly. Commercially available polypropylene (PP) filaments produce shrinkage and warpage, termed dimensional instabilities, or have ...

This study demonstrates a novel noninvasive strategy to treat in‐stent restenosis using focused ultrasound. A shape memory alloy stent initially expands at body temperature. If restenosis occurs, targeted ultrasound heating thermally actuates the stent, enabling a secondary expansion to reopen the blocked vessel, offering a potential alternative to ...

Particle Size Influence Upon Sintered Induced Strains Within 3DP Stainless Steel Components [PDF]
Three-dimensional printing (3DP™ 1 ) is a layer-by-layer manufacturing process whereby a three-dimensional (3D) component is created by the distribution of a liquid binder onto a powder media.

Iron‐based metallic glass alloys exhibit excellent soft‐magnetic properties, and unprecedented geometrical freedom in the design of soft‐magnetic metallic glass components is made possible by additive manufacturing. An efficient workflow for developing parameters for laser‐based powder bed fusion of a Fe‐based metallic glass alloy is presented along ...
