Evidence of Iron Accumulation in Cerebral Adrenoleukodystrophy: A Potential Novel Disease Mechanism

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this first application of Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping Source Separation to cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy, we uncovered alterations in iron and myelin within lesions and normal appearing white matter. As validation, we demonstrate abnormal iron accumulation in those same compartments within primary brain tissue.

Balancing distribution systems with three‐phase active front end rectifiers: field experiment results

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2017
This study describes field tests of alternative methods to control three‐phase active rectifiers to reduce voltage unbalance in low‐voltage (LV) distribution systems.

A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of the Recurrence of Autoimmune Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) is a disease with a potential for recurrence, and patients receive immunotherapy to prevent it. However, there is no consensus on the duration of immunotherapy. This study aimed to determine the recurrence rate and identify the risk factors for AE to provide guidance on the duration of immunotherapy ...

A multi‐power quality problems management strategy based on VSCs and switches in AC/DC hybrid LVDN with large PVs

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
A large scale of distributed photovoltaics is accessed through a low voltage distribution network in a single‐phase or two‐phase, which causes three‐phase unbalance and over‐voltage problems.

Sex Representation in US Stroke Clinical Trials: A Decade of Trends and Challenges

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stroke remains a major cause of disability and mortality in the US, with significant sex‐based disparities, and females remain underrepresented in stroke clinical trials. We aimed to examine sex representation in US‐based stroke clinical trials, identify trial characteristics associated with higher female enrollment (≥ 50%), and ...

The Performance of a Three-Phase Induction Motor under and over Unbalance Voltage

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2022
Voltage unbalance is an adverse global phenomenon impacting three-phase induction motor output. Three-phase source voltage may become imbalanced in a variety of respects, while a balanced system preserves stable voltage magnitude and angles in three ...

Test of the He-McKellar-Wilkens topological phase by atom interferometry. Part I: theoretical discussion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We have recently tested the topological phase predicted by He and McKellar and by Wilkens: this phase appears when an electric dipole propagates in a transverse magnetic field.

Cracking the Code: Genotype–Phenotype Correlation Models in Sarcoglycanopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Sarcoglycanopathies are among the most severe limb‐girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMD), though milder presentations have been described. These diseases are primarily caused by missense variants, but the limited predictability of their effect on protein maturation, complex formation, and transport has hindered reliable genotype ...

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

A Control Strategy for Input Voltage Unbalance in Three-Phase PWM Rectifiers Based on Adaptive Periodic Current Fluctuation Suppression

open access: yesIEEE Access
Three-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifiers are crucial in industrial, civil, and transportation applications. Due to the diversity of grid loads, the three-phase input voltage may be unbalanced, which consequently leads to unequal three-phase ...
