Winkler boundary conditions for three-point bending tests on 1D nanomaterials
Nanotechnology, 2010Bending tests with atomic force microscopes (AFM) is a common method for elasticity measurements on 1D nanomaterials. Interpretation of the force and deflection data is necessary to determine the Young's modulus of the tested material and has been done assuming either of two classic boundary conditions that represent two extreme possibilities for the ...

Fracture behavior of nuclear graphite under three-point bending tests
Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 2017Abstract Three-point bending tests are performed on center-notched graphite beams to study the fracture properties of IG11 graphite. Electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) is used to measure the full-field deformation of the graphite beams.

Three-Point Bending Device for flexure testing of soft tissues
2009 IEEE 35th Annual Northeast Bioengineering Conference, 2009This 3-Point Bending Device is intended to provide the user with a novel tool used to obtain material property information for biological tissues. Specifically, the device is intended to provide the user with the stress-strain relationship of the tested tissue in the low-strain region (≪5% strain) and provide the location of the neutral axis.

Three-Point Bending Test Behaviour of a QFN Semiconductor Package
Advanced Materials Research, 2010This paper discusses some issues in micromechanical property of a newly developed Quad Flat No-lead (QFN) 3D stacked die package using three-point bending test approach. The relevant test methodologies were carried out in order to observe the flexural stress, strain, maximum load and deflection of the package.

Finite element modeling of the three-point bend impact test
Computers & Structures, 1993Abstract A dynamic finite element program has been applied to the analysis of the three-point bend impact specimen. First, the behavior of an unsupported specimen struck at its center was modeled. From this it was predicted that the best striker force response in an impact test would be obtained with an overhang at each end of 22% of the total length.

Bending Properties of Granite Beams with Various Section-Sizes in Three-Point Bending Tests
Geotechnical and Geological Engineering, 2018To examine the size effects on the bending strength of rock and determine the relation between Brazilian splitting strength and bending strength, Brazilian splitting tests were performed to measure the indirect tensile strength of rock materials. Three-point bending tests were used to evaluate the bending properties of rock beam by changing the sample ...

Impact Three-Point Bend Testing for Notched and Precracked Specimens
Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 1978Abstract Testing and data analysis procedures developed from a recently completed fracture toughness testing program on ferritic nuclear pressure vessel steels are presented. These procedures describe the measurement of dynamic fracture toughness at stress intensification rates near 105 MPa√m/s using instrumented impact testing of three ...
