A Reassessment of Petrochemistry of ~1.2 Ga Tonalitic Rocks of the Northern Tugela Terrane, Natal Metamorphic Belt, South Africa: Further Constraints on the Evolution of This Belt

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Our petrochemical studies on ~1.2 Ga granitoids of the Natal Metamorphic Belt, South Africa, do not suggest any property similar to Phanerozoic‐style subduction‐related granitoids. Plot of Kotongweni Tonalite in Y versus Sr diagram (after Moyen 2011), note that most samples have Sr/Y < 50.

Experimental study of MICP-treated sand enhanced by pozzolan

open access: yesRock and Soil Mechanics, 2022
In order to improve the reinforcement effect of microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) technology on sand, the test of MICP-treated sand reinforced by pozzolan was designed and carried out considering the porous structure and activity

Analysis of Carbohydrates and Glycoconjugates by Matrix‐Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Mass Spectrometry: An Update for 2023–2024

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The use of MALDI mass spectrometry for the analysis of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates is a well‐established technique and this comprehensive review is the twelfth update of the original article published in 1999 and brings coverage of the literature to the end of 2024.

The curing performances of lead-contaminated soil conditioned with modified phosphorus β-hemihydrate gypsum cemented materials

open access: yesDiscover Environment
A novel modified phosphorus β-hemihydrate gypsum (MPG) cementing material was developed to solidify lead-contaminated soil. The solidification effects of lead in the contaminated soil with MPG and Portland cement (PC) as curing agent were contrasted by ...

Herbaceous species mitigate the influence of wetting-drying cycles on the infiltration potential of clayey soil

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
IntroductionWetting-drying cycles significantly influence soil hydro-mechanical properties, thereby playing a crucial role in the assessment of geological hazards.

Vulnerability to Dams of the Last Undammed Large Rivers of Southeast Asia

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The vast majority of large Eurasian rivers are regulated by hydropower dams, but some have survived as free‐flowing rivers so far in the Arctic and along stretches of the Myanmar coast. There, the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) and Salween Rivers, two of the largest rivers of Southeast Asia, provide a huge amount of sediment, nurturing floodplains and

Macroinvertebrate community structure in Three-Gorges Reservoir, China

open access: yes, 2008
We investigated the macroinvertebrate community structure in Three-Gorges Reservoir during a three-year period after the reservoir became operational. Comparison with data of previous authors obtained before the damming showed that the benthic community ...

Evaluating Multi-Benefit Cover Crop Management Models for Citrus Sustainable Management: A Field Study from Central China

open access: yesPlants
Cover crop in orchards is recognized as a sustainable practice that enhances multiple ecosystem services, yet systematic evaluations of different cover crop management models in citrus orchards remain limited. This study investigated the effects of cover

An Experimental Study on the Creep Characteristics of Sandstone in the Interval of Different Critical Stresses

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
Creep tests on brittle sandstone specimens were performed to investigate the time-dependent characteristics in the interval of different critical stresses. The results showed that failure will not occur when the loaded stress σ1 is less than the critical

Remote Sensing‐Based Identification of Habitat Loss for Herbivorous Waterbirds Driven by Wetland Inundation Alterations

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
We present a deep learning framework integrating remote sensing and SHAP interpretation to map 22‐year habitat dynamics of herbivorous waterbirds in Dongting Lake. Results show nearly 50% habitat loss, driven primarily by hydrological recession timing rather than static inundation extent.
