Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Three-phase Three-level Inverter Grid-tied PV System with Fuzzy Logic Control based MPPT

open access: yesAlgerian Journal of Signals and Systems, 2018
This paper presents a three phase single stage grid connected photovoltaic PV system. Maximum power transfer from the solar array to grid is ensured by using fuzzy logic (FL) based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller.

Deep Learning Based Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring for a Three-Phase System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) is a method to determine the power consumption of individual appliances from the overall power consumption measured by a single measurement device, which is usually the main meter.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Experimental Investigation of Minimum Fluidization Velocity in Three Phase Inverse Fluidized Bed System [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2013
Minimum fluidization velocity is one of the most important parameters when characterizing the hydrodynamics of a fluidized bed. Experiment studies on the effects of bed height and material density on the minimum fluidization velocity for inverse ...

Modeling of residence time distribution : application to a three-phase inverse fluidized bed based on a Mellin transform [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The study is focused on modeling of gas and liquid residence time distribution in an aerated liquid system of an inverse fluidized bed bioreactor. Two opposite strategies are currently available: the use of powerful complex computational fluid dynamics ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
