Three-Point Bending Device for flexure testing of soft tissues

2009 IEEE 35th Annual Northeast Bioengineering Conference, 2009
This 3-Point Bending Device is intended to provide the user with a novel tool used to obtain material property information for biological tissues. Specifically, the device is intended to provide the user with the stress-strain relationship of the tested tissue in the low-strain region (≪5% strain) and provide the location of the neutral axis.

Bond strength of metal–ceramic systems in three‐point flexure bond test

Journal of Applied Biomaterials, 1995
AbstractThis study deals with a three‐point flexure test for the metal‐ceramic bond involving geometrically simple specimens (alloy strips partly coated with ceramic) that can be fabricated with reasonable expenditure and sufficient reproducibility. The calculation of the stress distribution in such specimens with the aid of the finite‐element method ...

Macromechanical Characteristics Deduced from Three-Point Flexure Tests on Unidirectional Carbon/Epoxy Composites

Mechanics of Composite Materials, 2003
Effects of different factors on the measured values of flexural modulus and flexural strength of unidirectional carbon/epoxy composites are investigated. This allows a correct interpretation of the results of flexural macromechanical properties obtained in three-point flexure tests.

Flexural strength, fracture toughness, three-body wear, and Martens parameters of pressable lithium-X-silicate ceramics.

Dental Materials, 2020
OBJECTIVES To test and compare five pressable lithium-X-silicate-ceramics on their mechanical and wear properties. METHODS Specimens were pressed and prepared from: i. Amber Press (AP), ii. Celtra Press (CP), iii. Initial LiSi Press (IL), iv.

Metal-adhesive bonded systems: Adhesion measurement using a three point flexure test

Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology, 1987
Single metallic adherend-adhesive bonded specimens are subjected to a three point flexure test in order to investigate the effects of adherend surface conditioning and adhesive curing conditions on the mechanical properties of the substrate-adhesive interfacial region. The main advantage of this test over more conventional ones (i.e.

Effect of build orientation in accuracy, flexural modulus, flexural strength, and microhardness of 3D-Printed resins for provisional restorations.

Journal of The Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2022
PURPOSE This study evaluated the effects of 3D-printing build orientation on accuracy, flexural modulus (FM), flexural strength (FS), and microhardness of selected, commercial 3D-printed provisional resins (3DRs).

Predicting the postcracking strength of ultra‐high performance fiber reinforced concrete by means of three‐point bending tests according to EN 14651

Structural Concrete, 2019
The postcracking strength of ultra‐high performance fiber reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) can be determined directly in axial tensile tests or derived from, for example, bending tests.

Investigation of sandwich composite failure under three-point bending: Simulation and experimental validation

Journal of Sandwich Structures and Materials, 2018
A sandwich structure consists of a two thin and strong facesheets, bonded to a thick lightweight core material. The mechanical response of a sandwich structure depends on the properties of its constituents.
