Evaluation of the Effect of Different Construction Techniques of CAD-CAM Milled, 3D-Printed, and Polyamide Denture Base Resins on Flexural Strength: An In Vitro Comparative Study.

Journal of Prosthodontics, 2022
PURPOSE To compare the flexural strength of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) milled denture base resin (DBR), 3D-printed DBR, polyamide, and conventional compression-molded DBR.

Thermal stresses in metal–ceramic specimens for the ISO crack initiation test (three-point flexure bond test)

Dental Materials, 1998
At the October 1996 meeting of the ISO/TC106/SC 2/WG 1 working group, a special three-point flexure test for the characterization of the metal-ceramic bond was incorporated in the standard (ISO CD 9693). Due to the fabrication process, like real porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) restorations, the specimens contain thermal (eigen-) stresses upon which the ...

The Flexural Behavior Study of Composites Material in Static Three-Point Bending Test

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
The effect of the plies number and the thickness on flexural properties of glass fiber reinforced polyester or epoxy composites has been investigated experimentally. Laminates were fabricated by hand layup technique in a mould under light pressure and followed by curing at room temperature for 8 hours.

Adherence evaluation of paint coatings using a three‐point flexure test and acoustic emission

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2001
AbstractThe adherence of paint coatings on aluminum substrates was tested using a three‐point flexure test (TPFT) combined with acoustic emission (AE) evaluation. The mechanical test was defined according to the French Standard. During bending of the paint‐coated specimen, acoustic emission signals were recorded and analyzed.

A novel approach for the three-point flexure test of multidirectional laminates

Journal of Composite Materials, 2011
The complementary energy of a multidirectional laminate is obtained as a function of mechanical and hygrothermal force and moment resultants. Three-point flexure is then analysed assuming that the specimen is in contact with the support rollers at four points.

Influence of bending rotations on three and four-point bend end notched flexure tests

Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 2008
Abstract It has been experimentally observed that mode II critical energy release rate (GIIC) values determined by four-point end notched flexure test and three-point end notched flexure test are different for the same material. At the present work correction factors related to bending rotations are introduced to explain the differences between ...

A three-point flexure test configuration for improved sensitivity to metal/ adhesive interfacial phenomena

International Journal of Adhesion and Adhesives, 1982
Abstract A three-point flexure test was used to evaluate the effects of chemical surface treatments on the performance of adhesively-bonded structures of Ti6A14V. A single adherend/adhesive structure rather than a double adherend sandwich configuration is shown to be sensitive to pre-bonding adherend surface treatments.

Objects build orientation, positioning, and curing influence dimensional accuracy and flexural properties of stereolithographically printed resin.

Dental Materials, 2018
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the influence of printing parameters on flexural properties and accuracy of SLA-printed standard objects. METHODS Thirty specimens were printed in 0°, 45° and 90° orientation.
