Ficothrips, a new genus of Thripinae Thysanoptera from Iran
Zootaxa, 2012A new genus, Ficothrips gen. n., with one new species, F. moundi sp. n., is described from Fars province in south of Iran. Thesystematic position of this genus is discussed and its relationships to Scolothrips and Parascolothrips, two genera of leaf-living and predatory species.

Pandanothrips gen. n. is described, with three new species inhabiting Pandanus: P. ryukyuensis sp. n. from Japan, P. wangi sp. n. from Malaysia, and P. hallingi sp. n. from Australia. This new genus shows no relationship to Projectothrips Moulton, the only other Thripinae genus known to be associated with Pandanus.
