Survival, safety and belonging: An ethnographic study of experiences and perceptions of people who inject drugs accessing a supervised injecting Centre

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, Volume 57, Issue 4, Page 829-846, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Introduction The inclusion of people who use drugs in the design and evaluation of their health services remains a relatively new phenomenon. The aim of the research was to explore the experiences and perceptions of people accessing the Medical Supervised Injecting Centre (MSIC), and Clinic 180, Sydney Australia, and the factors facilitating ...

Bremstrahlung in wormhole spacetime with infinitely short throat [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. D89, 024012 (2014), 2013
We consider the total energy loss and spectral density of uniformly moving electrically charged particles in the spacetime of a wormhole with an infinitely short throat. We show that the total energy loss $\mathcal{E} \sim e^2v\gamma a^2/b^3$, where $\gamma$ is relativistic factor, $a$ is the radius of the wormhole's throat and $b$ is the impact factor.

Combined Systemic Immunotherapy and Intrathecal Dexamethasone in Febrile Infection Related Epilepsy Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Febrile infection related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES) is a rare presentation of refractory status epilepticus with immune dysregulation as a potential pathologic mechanism. Despite promising results from second‐line immunomodulators, approximately 30% remain refractory to treatment.

Persistent discharge or edema after endoscopic sinus surgery in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis is associated with a type 1 or 3 endotype

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, Volume 13, Issue 1, Page 15-24, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) may have persistence of polyps, discharge, or edema after endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). Inflammation in CRS can be classified into three endotypes, with the presence of polyps associated with the type 2 endotype.

Artificial intelligence-based refractive error prediction and EVO-implantable collamer lens power calculation for myopia correction

open access: yesEye and Vision, 2023
Background Implantable collamer lens (ICL) has been widely accepted for its excellent visual outcomes for myopia correction. It is a new challenge in phakic IOL power calculation, especially for those with low and moderate myopia.

Hypocycloidal throat for 2+1-dimensional thin-shell wormholes [PDF]

open access: yesEur. Phys. J. C 75, 540 (2015), 2015
Recently we have shown that for $2+1-$dimensional thin-shell wormholes a non-circular throat may lead to a physical wormhole in the sense that the energy conditions are satisfied. By the same token, herein we consider angular dependent throat geometry embedded in a $2+1-$dimensional flat spacetime in polar coordinates.
