Platelet hyperreactivity and risk of ischemic placental disease: A prospective cohort study

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Introduction Platelet hyperreactivity is linked to inflammation and cardiovascular risk in nonpregnant populations, but its relationship to placentally mediated pregnancy outcomes is undefined. We prospectively evaluated platelet hyperreactivity in pregnancy and subsequent ischemic placental disease (IPD), and examined aspirin's (ASA) effect ...

Borna disease virus infection: Retrospective case series of five horses and two donkeys in Switzerland

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, Volume 38, Issue 3, Page e119-e129, March 2026.

STIMATE‐Mustn1 Fusion Protein Prevents Ca2+ Overload in Cells That Present Increased SOCE

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
STIMATE‐mustn1 fused protein expression downregulates Thr‐evoked Ca2+ entry in neonatal platelets. Meanwhile, maternal platelets express the canonical STIMATE, which promotes the Thr‐dependent Ca2+ entry. Impaired Ca2+ entry in neonatal platelets may contribute to the alteration in platelet aggregation found in these subjects. ER, endoplasmic reticulum.

Pre-treatment thrombocytosis and ovarian cancer survival: A meta-analysis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology: X
An association between thrombocytosis and cancer progression and decreased survival has been observed for various forms of cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of pre-treatment thrombocytosis on ovarian cancer survival.

Transient thrombocytosis with megathrombocytes in a case of acute myeloblastic leukemia

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2009
Thrombocytosis is commonly seen in reactive conditions and certain neoplastic states, such as chronic myeloproliferative disorders. It is rarely seen in acute leukemia.
