Vibration characteristics of the two-stage throttle valve induced by cavitation

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
The effect of cavitation on vibration characteristics of a two-stage throttle valve is experimentally studied by changing inlet pressure, outlet pressure and opening.

Population and species neighbor identity impact trait–trait relationships and plant performance

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
We evaluated how populations and species identity influence plant performance and trait outcomes in mixtures, and assessed trait variation among populations of two forb species native to the western United States (Dieteria canescens and Heterotheca villosa) following three interaction treatments (single‐population monoculture, two‐population mixture ...

Research on the Influence of Throttle Valve Cage Sleeve Structure on Throttling Effect

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Sciences, 2021
Throttle valve is the key equipment of ultra-high pressure natural gas well, and the research on the structure and performance of the throttle valve is particularly important. Among them, the cage-type throttle valve has been studied more and more in recent years because of its many advantages.

Effects of chronic browsing on life‐history traits of an irruptive large herbivore population

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study aimed to determine the relationship between diet quality, body mass, and size (hind foot length), and female reproduction and sought to identify the mechanism by which high density under severe food limitations is maintained. Our results demonstrated that sika deer introduced to Nakanoshima Island have maintained high densities through high ...

Study on fermentation gas combustion with hydrogen addition under various throttle openings

open access: yesGreen Energy and Resources, 2023
Regional energy systems are designed to contribute to a green and “carbon neutral” economy of localities. In this system, the engine combustion is significant for power generation. Therefore, this study mainly investigated the effect of throttle openings

Combining transient dynamics and logistic‐asymptotic growth to study the recovery of two seabird populations after rat eradication

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examines the demographic dynamics of two seabird populations on Tromelin Island, 15 years after the eradication of brown rats. The results indicate that these populations are in good health and are expected to continue growing until breeding sites are saturated in about a century.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...

Geographic variation in walking activity in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examined whether there is geographic variation in field populations, focusing on the moving activity in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum. Results showed significant differences in moving activity among field populations but no correlation with latitude or meteorological factors.

occumb: An R package for site occupancy modeling of eDNA metabarcoding data

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study introduces a new R package, occumb, for the convenient application of site occupancy modeling using environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding data. We outline a data analysis workflow, including data setup, model fitting, model assessment, and comparison of potential study settings based on model predictions, all of which can be performed using
