Active Power Control of Hydraulic Wind Turbines during Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT) Based on Hierarchical Control

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
To improve the power grid adaptability and low voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability of hydraulic wind turbines (HWT), an LVRT control method based on hierarchical control is proposed for the energy regulation of HWT.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Fuzzy Throttle And Brake Control For Platoons Of Smart Cars [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
This study demonstrates the use of an additive fuzzy system to control the velocity and gap of cars in a single lane two-car platoon. A throttle- only controller and a combined throttle and braker controller were tested.

Flow Safety Analysis and Application of Production Fairway of Subsea Christmas Tree

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2023
At present, there is a lack of fine characterization on the temperature and pressure field performance in the production fairway of subsea Christmas tree during the production of oil and gas wells, and there is a lack of research on the generation ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Robust control of a throttle body for drive by wire operation of automotive engines

open access: yes, 2000
In recent years, ever more stringent requirements in terms of emissions control, driveability, and safety of automobiles have led to the development of the drive by wire (DBW) concept, a new architecture for engine control systems, with the purpose of ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
