Variable thrust angle constant thrust collision avoidance maneuver under thrust failure

The 27th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2015 CCDC), 2015
This paper addresses the application of variable thrust angle (VTA) approach for constant thrust collision avoidance maneuver under thrust failure in the y-axis. In particular, the collision avoidance maneuver process is divided into in-plane motion and out-plane motion based on the relative motion dynamic model.

Thrust stand for low-thrust liquid pulsed rocket engines

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2010
A thrust stand is developed for measuring the pulsed thrust generated by low-thrust liquid pulsed rocket engines. It mainly consists of a thrust dynamometer, a base frame, a connecting frame, and a data acquisition and processing system. The thrust dynamometer assembled with shear mode piezoelectric quartz sensors is developed as the core component of ...

The Saltville thrust: investigation of a regional thrust fault in a foreland fold and thrust belt

2020
Thin-skinned models of deformation are currently accepted for the southern Appalachians. The mechanics of this type of deformation are not well understood. The Saltville thrust, a major overthrust in the southern Appalachians, was investigated with respect to deformation mechanics.

A microNewton thrust stand for average thrust measurement of pulsed microthruster

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2013
A torsional thrust stand has been developed for the study of the average thrust for microNewton pulsed thrusters. The main body of the thrust stand mainly consists of a torsional balance, a pair of flexural pivots, a capacitive displacement sensor, a calibration assembly, and an eddy current damper. The behavior of the stand was thoroughly studied. The

Optimum thrust programming for low thrust devices

1964
The use of low thrust devices with continuous and discontinuous thrust programs is investigated to determine whether or not a discontinuous thrust program will provide a greater payload and structure mass fraction, where the program must impart a specified amount of energy to the satellite in a specified total time, starting from a circular parking ...

Thrusts and thrust-associated mineralization in the Lachlan Orogen

Economic Geology, 1995
The Lachlan orogen is characterized by a thin-skinned deformational style, with major thrusts and strike- slip faults soling into detachments in the upper and middle crust. Thrusts are divided into three types: type 1 thrusts that formed in apparently unconstrained sediment packages such as Early Ordovician turbidites; type 2 thrusts formed during ...

Shaping low-thrust trajectories with thrust-handling feature

Advances in Space Research, 2018
Abstract Shape-based methods are becoming popular in low-thrust trajectory optimization due to their fast computation speeds. In existing shape-based methods constraints are treated at the acceleration level but not at the thrust level. These two constraint types are not equivalent since spacecraft mass decreases over time as fuel is expended.

Thermal effects and timing of thrusting in the Moine Thrust zone

Journal of the Geological Society, 1985
Illite crystallinity studies in the foreland to the Moine thrust belt show a widespread heating event which is interpreted as a thermal response to thrust sheet emplacement. Temperatures reached ~275°C approximately 24 Ma after the main thrusting events.

Evaluation of fluidic thrust vectoring nozzle via thrust pitching angle and thrust pitching moment

Shock Waves, 2016
Shock vector control (SVC) in a converging–diverging nozzle with a rectangular cross-section is discussed as a fluidic thrust vectoring (FTV) method. The interaction between the primary nozzle flow and the secondary jet is examined using experiments and numerical simulations.

Variable Thrust Angle Constant Thrust Rendezvous

2015
In this paper, variable thrust angle (VTA) constant thrust rendezvous is studied. In particular, the rendezvous process is divided into in-plane motion and out-plane motion based on the relative motion dynamic model. For the in-plane motion, the calculation of thrust angle control lows is cast into a convex optimization problem by introducing a ...
