Thrust ripple reduction method of inner magnet linear synchronous motor
2017 11th International Symposium on Linear Drives for Industry Applications (LDIA), 2017A thrust ripple reduction method for a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor is introduced. The mover consisting of a magnet, a ferromagnetic plate, and a back yoke is divided into three parts in the stacking direction. Each part is spatially displaced in the moving direction.

Thrust ripple analysis for improved modular tubular permanent magnet synchronous linear motor
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2022Various technologies have ever been developed to minimize the detent force of linear motors. Although the traditional modular structure can effectively reduce the detent force, the width of the flux barrier and the number of units severely limit its application.

Comparative results of thrust ripple in several topologies of PMLSM
4th IET International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2008), 2008This study presents comparative results of thrust ripple levels in 4 different topologies of PMLMs, obtained by means of finite element software, and presents conclusions about the results obtained.

Thrust Ripple of a Permanent Magnet LSM With Step Skewed Magnets
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2012This paper analyzes the thrust characteristics of the investigated permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) and discusses their differences with those of rotary motors. It shows that the main components of the thrust ripple are second, fourth, and sixth harmonics, which is produced by end-effect, not the 12th harmonic caused by cogging.

In order to achieve high thrust density and low thrust ripple simultaneously, a multiobjective optimization design method is applied to ironless permanent magnet linear synchronous motor with non-overlapping windings. On the basis of the magnetic field analysis model, the analytical formulae of key parameters such as No-load back EMF, thrust per copper

Reduction of thrust ripple in Linear DC Motor
1995To design a LDM servo system, it is need to reduce thrust ripple for precise position servo system. The thrust ripples make it difficult to control in position servo system, we introduce some technique to reduce thrust ripple in LDM, and propose a technique to compensate the end effect in LDM by adding two sub magnetic pole.

Thrust Ripples Test and Analysis of Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor
2011 Third International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation, 2011Thrust ripples are the main factors which affect the application and development of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). In order to control and compensate the thrust fluctuations of permanent magnet synchronous motor, the mathematical model of thrust fluctuations must be established first.

Thrust ripple reduction of linear induction motor with direct torque control
2005 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2005This paper expresses a proposal of control method to reduce thrust ripple of linear induction motors (LIMs). Today, LIMs spread out in the field of transportation and an industrial field. For instance, they are used for a subway and a propulsive engine of an elevator. High efficiency control is demanded from these fields.

Magnet Skew Technology Investigation for the Reduction of PMLSM Thrust Ripple
Advanced Materials Research, 2012Thrust characteristics of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) are analyzed. It shows that frequency spectrums of thrust ripple, which are mainly caused by end-effect, are quite similar for linear motors with different pole/slot combinations. To apply magnet skew technology, a method using piecewise magnet for skewing factor computation is

Thrust Ripple Analysis on Toroidal-Winding Linear Permanent Magnet Vernier Machine
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2018Linear permanent magnet Vernier machines (LPMVM) have received more and more attention in recent years due to the advantages of high thrust density and low thrust ripple, which are both required in many direct-drive applications. In this paper, a double-sided toroidal-winding LPMVM (DSTWLPMVM) is proposed, and the thrust ripple sources for this type of
