Speed Control of Linear Induction Motor with Thrust and Stator Flux Ripple Reduction

2018 21st International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2018
This paper introduces a speed control of linear induction motor (LIM) by using three different strategies of control. A proportional Integral (PI) controller is used to control the speed of LIM. The output of the PI controller is regarded as the reference thrust for all three different schemes.

Separation of on-load Thrust Ripple of Moving-Magnet Linear Motor Based on Frozen Permeability

2024 IEEE 10th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC2024-ECCE Asia)
In this paper, a separation method of on-load thrust ripple of moving-magnet linear motor based on frozen permeability method is proposed. The traditional linear motor analysis method divides the thrust ripple into two parts: no-load detent force and ...

Optimization on thrust ripple of an axial-flux permanent-magnet linear synchronous machine

2011 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2011
This paper focuses on decreasing the thrust ripple of an axial-flux permanent-magnet linear synchronous machine (PMLSM) used for free-piston Stirling engines. A typical 1kW machine with 10 poles and 9 slots is investigated. By finite-element method (FEM), detent force and thrust ripple are analyzed for different axial and radial dimensions of the end ...

Optimization of the Thrust Ripple of a Tubular Flux-Switching Permanent Magnet Linear Motor

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
The effective optimization methods are needed to reduce the thrust ripple for the tubular flux-switching permanent magnet linear motor (TFSPMLM), which is significant for reducing the vibration, and improving the reliability. The auxiliary teeth and core bridge are set and analyzed for the bipolar and single-polar winding structures.

Thrust ripple reduction according to coil arrangement in PMLSM with double secondary side

2016 IEEE 11th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2016
Reduction of the spatial harmonics of back electromotive force(EMF) is a useful way to reduce thrust ripple of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). In this study, a method of v-skewing in the coils is proposed to reduce the harmonics to suppress thrust ripple in the PMLSM.

Research on Restraining Thrust Force Ripple for Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor

2006 CES/IEEE 5th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2006
Direct thrust force control will be applied to control permanent magnet linear synchronous motor. Thrust force ripple because of special end-effect of linear motor is bigger problem in the linear motor direct driving system without any conversion block.

Inner Loop Design for PMLSM Drives With Thrust Ripple Compensation and High-Performance Current Control

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2018
To realize the precise thrust force control in permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) drives, this paper studies a novel design method of the high-performance current inner loop. First, to increase the control bandwidth, an optimized predictive current controller, which takes account of the one-step delay issue, is presented on the basis of ...

Thrust Ripple Suppression Strategy Based on Quasi Resonant Extended State Observer for PMSLM

IEEE transactions on industry applications
Due to the influence of cogging force and end force, permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSM) suffer from serious thrust ripple. The thrust ripple seriously affects the control performance, greatly limits the application of PMSLM.
