Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Design and Optimization of a Surface-Mounted Permanent-Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor with Maxwell ANSYS

open access: yesAl-Khawarizmi Engineering Journal, 2019
Linear motor offers several features in many applications that require linear motion. Nevertheless, the presence of cogging force can deteriorate the thrust of a permanent magnet linear motor.

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

Multi-Objective Design Optimization of a Linear Brushless Permanent Magnet Motor Using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2010
In this paper a brushless permanent magnet motor is designed considering minimum thrust ripple and maximum thrust density (the ratio of the thrust to permanent magnet volumes). Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is used as optimization method.

Dual-Stator Versus Dual-Mover Segmented Secondary Hybrid Excited Linear Flux Switching Machine for Ropeless Elevator System

open access: yesMachines
Rotatory electric motors provide low efficiency in the case of linear motion. The reason for this is the mechanical conversion system required to convert rotary torque to linear thrust force.
