Windshear recovery using thrust vectoring
Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1999This study presents a preliminary evaluation of the application of Thrust Vectoring (TV) technology for improving windshear recovery of civil aircraft in microburst windshear encounters. A numerical trajectory optimization technique based on the method of multiple shooting is applied to achieve a microburst escape with minimal loss of altitude for a ...

Vectoria - A design study incorporating thrust vectoring
AIAA and SAE, 1998 World Aviation Conference, 1998<div class="htmlview paragraph">The Vectoria aircraft was designed last year by staff members and students from Linköping University in Sweden and is a fighter that is designed to play a role similar to the Saab JAS 39 Gripen. The design incorporates many new ideas in aircraft design including stealth and two-dimensional thrust vectoring ...

Thrust Vector Control Utilizing Asymmetric Jet Nozzles
Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1986R interest in thrust vector control with rigidly mounted thrusters has been revived. The results described in this Note are associated with the side-force generated by a supersonic jet with an exit plane which is oblique to the centerline of the exhaust flow. As shown in Fig.

Jet tab thrust vector control.
Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1965The jet tab is a physical obstacle that is inserted into the nozzle exhaust stream to induce a strong shock upstream of the tab. The adverse pressure gradient along the nozzle wall, which accompanies the induced strong shock, causes an oblique shock upstream at the point of flow separation from the wall.

In-Flight Thrust Determination for Aircraft with Thrust Vectoring
2017<div class="section abstract"> <div class="htmlview paragraph">The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on in-flight thrust determination of engines that are impacted by intentional or unintentional thrust vectoring. However, as indicated in the Foreword, the field of aircraft thrust vectoring is varied and complex.

TANDEM CASCADE THRUST VECTORING RESEARCH PROGRAM.
1964Abstract : Continuous thrust vectoring from horizontal through vertical, to reversed thrust can be accomplished by the use of one or two cascades in series, each employing variable camber airfoils. An experimental wind tunnel evaluation of three types of variable camber airfoils, and experimental scale model investigation of the principle applied to a ...
