Seasonal variation of the mesospheric inversion layer, thunderstorms and mesospheric ozone over India [PDF]
Temperature and ozone volume mixing ratio profiles obtained from the Halogen Occultation Experiment (HALOE) aboard the Upper Atmospheric Research Satellite (UARS) over India and over the open ocean to the south during the period 1991-2001 are analyzed to study the characteristic features of the Mesospheric Inversion Layer (MIL) at 70 to 85 km ...

Multi-messenger observations of thunderstorm-related bursts of cosmic rays [PDF]
We present the facilities of the Aragats Space Environmental Center in Armenia used during multi-year observations of the thunderstorm ground enhancements (TGEs) and corresponding environmental parameters. We analyze the characteristics of the scintillation detectors, operated on Aragats, and describe the coordinated detection of TGEs by the network of

Amplified radio emission from cosmic ray air showers in thunderstorms [PDF]
Cosmic ray air showers produce radio emission, consisting in large part of geosynchrotron emission. Since the radiation mechanism is based on particle acceleration, the atmospheric electric field can play an important role. Especially inside thunderclouds large electric fields can be present.

False Data Injection Attack on Atmospheric Electric Field in Thunderstorm Warning [PDF]
Thunderstorm warning plays an important role in lightning prevention and disaster mitigation. In practical applications, thunderstorm warning system is also vulnerable to attacks, such as False Data Injection Attack (FDIA).

IN reference to the production of ozone it may interest your readers to know that the quantity developed here has been unusually great during the last few days. On Sunday evening, during the electrical agitation that occurred and ended in a slight discharge, accompanied by heavy rain, we had the highest reading. Mr.

High energy cosmic ray particles and the most powerful new type discharges in thunderstorm atmosphere [PDF]
The runaway breakdown -- extensive atmospheric shower discharge (RB - EAS) excited in thunderstorm atmosphere by high energy cosmic ray particles ($\epsilon_p>10^{17} - 10^{19}$ eV) generate very powerful radio pulse. The RB - EAS theory is compared with observations of radio pulses. An agreement between the theory and experiment is established.

The challenge of predicting flash floods from thunderstorm rainfall. [PDF]
A major characteristic of the hydrometeorology of semi-arid regions is the occurrence of intense thunderstorms that develop very rapidly and cause severe flooding.
