Cause Analysis of A Thunderstorm Gale In Hefei

IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019
Based on the ground, sounding, Doppler radar data, the cause of a thunderstorm gale was analyzed. The convective storms nearby Hefei Airport merged, and the height of strong reflectivity factor decreased rapidly. To the airport gale, the subsidence airflow formed a strong cold pool on the ground, and its rapid movement led to strong gale at the airport.

Temporospatial distribution and trends of thunderstorm, hail, gale and heavy precipitation events over the Tibetan Plateau and associated mechanisms

Journal of Climate, 2021
AbstractTemporospatial distribution and trends of thunderstorm, hail, gale and heavy precipitation events over the Tibetan Plateau (TP), as well as the associated mechanisms with observational data from 1979-2016 are investigated, which have not been fully studied under a changing climate.

A Comparative Study on Machine Learning Approaches to Thunderstorm Gale Identification

Proceedings of the 2019 11th International Conference on Machine Learning and Computing, 2019
In this paper, we make a comparative study to examine the performance of different machine learning approaches for the thunderstorm gale identification. To this end, a thunderstorm gale benchmark dataset is constructed, which comprises radar images in Guangdong from 2015 to 2017.
