Phasor dynamics of thyristor-controlled series capacitor systems
This paper develops simple but accurate continuous-time, large-signal dynamic models for a thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC). The models are based on the representation of voltages and currents as time-varying Fourier series, and focus on the dynamics of the short-term Fourier coefficients.

Directional Relaying in the Presence of a Thyristor-Controlled Series Capacitor
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2013This paper proposes a fault direction estimation technique for a line with a thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC). Such a compensated line imposes problems to directional relaying schemes due to reactance modulation, current, and voltage inversion issues and TCSC-control action.

Frequency response of the thyristor controlled series capacitor
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2001This paper introduces the application of a new method based on Fourier series expansion, to derive the frequency response of a thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC). The theory and the numerical approach are presented and the results are reported. Although this method is solely applied to the TCSC device in this context, it is completely general
