Thyroid-stimulating hormone pituitary adenomas
Journal of Neurosurgery, 2008Object Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH)–secreting pituitary adenomas are rare, representing < 2% of all pituitary adenomas. Methods The authors conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with TSH-secreting or clinically silent TSH-immunostaining pituitary tumors among all pituitary adenomas followed at their institution between 1987 and 2003.

The thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) has a central role in thyrocyte function and is also one of the major autoantigens for the autoimmune thyroid diseases. We review the post-translational processing, multimerization, and intramolecular cleavage of TSHR, all of which may modulate its signal transduction.

Pituitary thyroid-stimulating hormone and thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulins
1976Thyroid function can be stimulated by several macromolecules, including pituitary thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), human chorionic thyrotrophin (HCT), human molar thyrotophin (HMT) and a population of thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulins. This paper attempts to review concisely the properties of these thyroid stimulators.

Inappropriate Secretion of Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone
Annals of Internal Medicine, 1981Recent studies have provided major new insights into the syndromes of inappropriate secretion of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), a heterogeneous group of disorders in which patients show inappropriately elevated levels of serum immunoactive TSH in the presence of elevated free thyroid hormone levels.
