Causal association of epigenetic age acceleration and risk of subacute thyroiditis: a bidirectional Mendelian randomization study

open access: yesClinical Epigenetics
Background Epigenetic age accelerations (EAAs) are a promising new avenue of research, yet their investigation in subacute thyroiditis (SAT) remains scarce.

Investigating the impact of STING pathway activation on breast cancer treatment outcomes: development and validation of a prognostic model

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionBreast cancer (BRCA) is a significant cause of cancer-associated mortality across the globe. Current therapeutic approaches face challenges such as drug resistance and metastasis. Immune signaling is triggered by chromosomal instability (CIN)

ARL3 Enhances ERα Stability via USP10 Deubiquitination to Promote Endocrine Resistance and Drive Mitochondrial Metabolic Reprogramming in HR+ Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ADP‐ribosylation factor‐like protein 3 (ARL3) as a novel chaperone that stabilizes estrogen receptor α (ERα) in breast cancer. ARL3 promotes tumor growth by recruiting USP10 to remove ubiquitin chains from ERα, preventing its degradation.

Targeted Degradation of sGRP78 Alleviates the Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soluble GRP78 (sGRP78) is identified as a novel tumor‐derived soluble factor that induces regulatory T cells (Treg). sGRP78 serves as an excellent serological biomarker for predicting the efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy in breast cancer patients. sGRP78 specifically binds to B cells, inducing the expression of IL‐10 and PD‐L1, thereby promoting Treg ...

Estimating the global prevalence of secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
BackgroundChronic kidney disease (CKD)-related secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is associated with higher morbidity and death. The goal of this study was to mine the SHPT data already available to do a meta-analysis on the global prevalence of SHPT ...

TMEM131‐Mediated Soluble TRAIL Triggered Type II Alveolar Epithelial Cell Senescence in Radiation‐Induced Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TMEM131 recruits the COPII complex to accelerate TRAIL transportation from endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi apparatus, and promotes soluble TRAIL secretion. TRAIL inhibits mitophagy and induces senescence through DR5 receptor in type II alveolar epithelial cells, ultimately driving radiation‐induced lung injury (RILI) progression.

Development of Age‐ and Sex‐Specific Metabolomics‐Based Biological Ageing Clocks for 10‐Year Mortality Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metabolomics‐based ageing clocks developed using blood biomarkers from over 215 000 European adults, improved the prediction of 10‐year all‐cause mortality compared to traditional models. Biological age acceleration is associated with higher mortality risk, as each additional year of metabolic age corresponded to at least 8% increased risk. These tools
