Autophagy is a dynamic process, regulated by a variety of factors, and may play different roles in different thyroid diseases or in different stages of the same thyroid disease. Autophagy can mediate inflammatory response and immunity, which is closely related to the pathogenesis of thyroid autoimmune diseases.
