Five crucial prognostic-related autophagy genes stratified female breast cancer patients aged 40–60 years

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2021
Background Autophagy is closely related to the progression of breast cancer. The aim at this study is to establish a prognostic-related model comprised of hub autophagy genes (AGs) to assess patient prognosis.

Robotic retroauricular thyroid surgery [PDF]

open access: yesGland Surgery, 2016
Surgery is the gold standard treatment for patients with thyroid cancer or nodules suspicious for cancer. Open conventional approach is the standard surgical approach. However, a visible neck incision could be a concern for most young female patients, especially for patients with a history of healing with keloid or hypertrophic scars.

EIF1AX Nucleolar Condensates Enhance Susceptibilities for the Management of Endometrial Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This schematic illustrates the mechanism of a senolytic strategy in endometrial cancer. EIF1AX facilitates the incorporation of DDX21 into nucleolar condensates, an event that suppresses rDNA transcription and induces cellular senescence. The compound 2,5‐MeC exploits this pathway by promoting EIF1AX nucleolar translocation and condensate formation ...

Modifying Glucose Metabolism Reverses Memory Defects of Alzheimer's Disease Model at Late Stages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using spatial transcriptomics, we show that ferul enanthate (SL‐ZF‐01) reverses episodic‐like memory deficits in aged, but not young, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) mice. SL restores glucose metabolism and Glucose Transporter 1/3 expression via an ‘Aging‐AD‐Rescue’ pattern, rescuing deficits seen in aged AD mice.

Psoralen induced cell cycle arrest by modulating Wnt/β-catenin pathway in breast cancer cells

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Psoralen could inhibit the proliferation of human breast cancer cells, however, the molecular mechanism was unclear. We evaluated the anti-proliferative effects of psoralen by MTT, plate colony formation assay and cell cycle analysis in MCF-7 and MDA-MB ...

Surgery for Thyroid Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesSurgical Oncology Clinics of North America, 2008
A technique of thyroidectomy that facilitates resection of the thyroid, preserves the parathyroid glands with their blood supply, and preserves the recurrent and the superior laryngeal nerves is described. This technique provides a simple and versatile means of complete extracapsular thyroidectomy for lesions of the thyroid gland and minimizes ...

Exclusive Breastfeeding Drives AMPK‐Dependent Thermogenic Memory in BAT and Promotes Long‐Term Metabolic Benefits in Offspring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exclusive breastfeeding establishes a thermogenic memory in brown adipose tissue by activating the HIF1AN/AMPK/α‐ketoglutarate axis via milk‐derived extracellular vesicles enriched in miR‐125a‐5p. This programming preserves metabolic health, while αKG supplementation restores BAT function under mixed feeding, offering strategies to mitigate the ...

IL4I1⁺ Macrophages and TDO2⁺ Myofibroblasts Drive AhR‐Mediated Immunosuppression and Ferroptosis Resistance in Solid Predominant Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Solid predominant lung adenocarcinoma exhibits an immune‐excluded, ferroptosis‐resistant niche enriched with IL4I1⁺ TAMs and TDO2⁺ myCAFs. Spatial and multi‐omics analyses reveal AhR‐driven crosstalk that promotes T cell exhaustion and therapy resistance. Blocking AhR with CH‐223191 restores ferroptosis sensitivity, and its combination with ferroptosis
