Single mode terahertz quantum cascade amplifier [PDF]
A terahertz (THz) optical amplifier based on a 2.9 THz quantum cascade laser (QCL) structure has been demonstrated. By depositing an antireflective coating on the QCL facet, the laser mirror losses are enhanced to fully suppress the lasing action ...

Superionic Amorphous Li2ZrCl6 and Li2HfCl6
Amorphous Li2HfCl6 and L2ZrCl6 are shown to be promising solid‐state electrolytes with predicted ionic conductivities >20 mS·cm−1. Molecular dynamics simulations with machine‐learning force fields reveal that anion vibrations and flexible MCl6 octahedra soften the Li coordination cage and enhance mobility. Correlation between Li‐ion diffusivity and the

Low Power, Compact Integrated Photonic Sampler Based on a Silicon Ring Modulator
Sampling is the primary functional step of an analogue to digital conversion, required for sensing, measurement, signal processing, metrology, and various data communication applications. Here we present, for the first time, to the best of our knowledge,

Angular Dependence of Copper Surface Damage Induced by an Intense Coherent THz Radiation Beam
In this work, we show the damage induced by an intense coherent terahertz (THz) beam on copper surfaces. The metallic surface was irradiated by multiple picosecond THz pulses generated by the Free Electron Laser (FEL) at the ISIR facility of the Osaka ...

THz Switching and THz Nonlinear Spectroscopy Applications
Slits in thin metal sheets and split-ring resonators (SRR) featuring gaps on the micro- or nano-scale are shown to be a promising tool for THz switching or THz nonlinear spectroscopy applications. Both structures show strong field enhancement in the gap region due to light-induced current flows and capacitive charging across the gap.

Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.

Decoding THz‐Driven Dynamic Fingerprints of Ferroelectric Nanotwin Networks
ABSTRACT Ultrafast polarization dynamics in ferroelectrics are of considerable interest for high‐speed tunable dielectrics and electro‐optics. Extended domain wall networks formed in ferroelectric twin nanodomains can support collective dynamics in the terahertz regime but require techniques that track polarization and strain evolution driven by ...
